Today is the International Day for Tolerance, a day to celebrate the diversity of our world and to promote respect, acceptance, and appreciation of different cultures, religions, and beliefs.
At Firebird Support Services, we are committed to fostering a culture of tolerance and non-violence in our community. We provide support to people with disabilities, mental health issues, and other challenges, and we respect their dignity, rights, and choices. We also value the contributions of our staff, volunteers, and partners, who come from various backgrounds and experiences.
We believe that tolerance is not just a passive attitude, but an active practice that requires education, dialogue, and cooperation. That's why we offer various programs and activities that aim to enhance the skills, knowledge, and confidence of our clients and staff, and to create opportunities for social inclusion and participation.
We invite you to join us in celebrating the International Day for Tolerance by learning more about the people around you, listening to their stories, and appreciating their perspectives. You can also check out the resources and events from UNESCO, the UN agency that initiated this day in 1995, to learn more about the importance and benefits of tolerance. ⁶
Together, let's make our world a more tolerant, peaceful, and harmonious place. 💕
