Reyes IVF Journey Loved ones; we have created this page to follow our journey of In vitro fertilization and wanted to share it all with those who want updates

For all my friends / family that have been asking for our IVF update: We had plans to do our egg retrieval in November / December and we had a LONG conversation about our whole journey. With me working two jobs and constantly being on my feet, the doctor recommended that we postpone this whole thing until I can slow down a bit at work because our risk of losing the pregnancy was a lot higher than most to begin with, they wanted me practically on bed rest for the first two months.

We were going to postpone until this spring and then in January we found out that I tore my Achilles tendon again! We will have to postpone even longer now since I have tendon repair surgery on March 28th, and will be on bed rest for a while. We have also had a long conversation and basically decided that if everything works out with choosing to do IVF then so be it, and if it doesn’t we are okay with that too. We have just wanted to take things day by day and focus on the family we have now, along with my ankle surgery/healing.

Much love to everyone that has checked in 🥰🥰

We got the next plan steps today! We are going to start Cycle 1 (Egg retrieval) the week of November 7th. We have to do it at the hospital in ID Falls. 12 days prior to that we will be starting medication injections but until then we will continue with the increased dosage of hormones. It sounds like they want us to potentially stay in town the week of the injections because every body is different and they don’t know if I will be ready for the retrieval on the 10th/11th/12th day of meds.

5-7 days after they impregnate the egg, we will begin cycle 2 and do the embryo transfer. They have made it extremely clear that we will be at an even bigger risk for miscarriage the first 7 days after implantation due to the ablation that was done a few years ago. They are wanting me to basically be on bed rest for the first few days until cleared. If all goes well, we will be confirming pregnancy by the end of the year! 🥹

Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers for this! We have decided that we will not be doing any additional cycles if we are unsuccessful the first go around- but they do freeze 9 additional eggs for us in case we change our mind. 💕💕

I know it’s a late post but our appointment today went okay. We did our baseline ultrasound and things looked good. We’re going to have to do a Hysteroscopy when we do our egg retrieval to ensure that there is enough viable lining for egg implantation. If not they will increase our doses of hormones. We are waiting to hear back from the doctor on set dates to start everything since we will be on vacation soon! 😊

We had an HSG test done today- to check the patency of our Fallopian tubes and just as expected from the tubal ligation they are completely sealed. We both did our blood work and got the green light from Dr. Parker to begin IVF- we have a saline and regular ultrasound on Monday to get our baseline and go from there on a treatment plan! 💕

Hi friends and family! We have decided to create a page and a “blog” type of thing to share our whole journey of IVF with those who choose to follow along rather than annoying your news feeds with a million posts! 💕🥹
