This is due to the fact that on the beach, hatchlings have to escape natural predators such as birds, crabs, and raccoons just to make it to the water. Its tensile strength (how much stress it can handle before breaking) comes out to about the average of steel–stronger than weaker steel, but weaker than the strongest steel. If a blind man learns to tell the difference between a sphere and a cube by touching them, if he gains his sight, would he be able to tell the difference by looking at them?
This question was first asked by Irish scientist William Molyneux back in 1688. Would a blind person who regains his sight be able to distinguish between a sphere and a cube if he’s only familiar with them by touch? Some believe the answer is no because the sensory notions of sight and touch are very different from one another.
