I often credit my broadcast journalism background for everything I know. (I’m a broken record at this point)
😴 Many people ask why I’m not reporting on TV, and I just tell them I’m using the skills I learned in college differently—because it’s just too complicated to explain how communicating news translates to communicating in content marketing.
🎙 Broadcast journalism is all about simplifying and communicating effectively. ✂ Translating to content marketing, it’s basically cutting through corporate jargon and delivering messages straight to the point.
This approach is evident in the video I recently produced, appeared in the on-camera work, wrote the script and edited.
🧘♀️ It’s a perfect example of translating several messages into clear, engaging content. Through script writing, tone and warm body language, unloading all these guidelines and information is less overwhelming to the viewer.
📹 I’m excited to continue using these skills to help businesses and brands communicate more simply, whether through my own on-camera work or through producing, editing & scriptwriting.
