15 JMB militants entered India, moved to Kashmir and other States: official.

KOLKATA 13 JULY: At least 15 neo Jamaat-ul- Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) operatives have entered West Bengal from the neighbouring country earlier this year and 10 of them moved to various parts of India including Jammu and Kashmir, an officer of Kolkata Police's Special Task Force (STF) said on Monday, July 12, 2021.

The remaining five had stayed back in West Bengal and three of them, who are Bangladeshi nationals, were arrested from south Kolkata's Haridevpur area on Sunday, the officer said.

It was revealed during interrogation of the three persons that 10 suspected JMB operatives have gone to Odisha, Bihar and Jammu and Kashmir, the IPS officer said.

The other two, who had stayed back in the state, were Sheikh Sakil and Salim Munshi, and the STF is looking for them.

"Sakil had helped them (the three others) in preparing fake Aadhaar cards which they had used to get accommodation on rent in Haridevpur. The three came to India following the instructions of senior JMB leader Al Ameen," he said.

The thre e— Najiur Rahman, Rabiul Islam and Sabir — used to sell fruits and mosquito curtains for a living.

The STF has contacted the Bangladesh Police to know details of the arrested trio, the officer said, adding that the landlord of the house of which they had taken two rooms on rent was called for questioning.

"We need to know how he came to know these persons, he said.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday also started collecting information about the three arrested JMB operatives.

"We have started gathering information about them and trying to find out who else are associated with them. We are at a very initial stage," an NIA officer said.

Meanwhile, when produced before a city court, the three suspected operatives of the Bangladesh-based banned outfit were remanded to 14 days' police custody.

Several documents, including jihadi materials, lists of top JMB leaders and their associates in other terror groups were seized from their possession.

A number of JMB operatives including Indians were arrested from West Bengal in the past few years. (PTI)

_ARTO B'la Launches On-ground Trial for issuance of Driving Licence_

Baramulla, February 22: Assistant Regional Transport Officer Baramulla, Mubashir Jaan launches a special on-ground trial in which an array of activities are to be performed by a candidate desirious to obtain a driving licence.

While elaborating the details, the ARTO said that in this trial, various aspects which are necessary for safe driving are being tested which includes up slope and down slope vehicle movement, applying common sense, using brakes at suitable distance among other aspects. He added that the trail has been launched as per the provisions of central Motor Vehicle Act.

Meanwhile, ARTO along with a team of officers/officials from various departments viz police, revenue, municipality etc conducted an inspection drive in Sopore in order to check whether transporters and other concerned stakeholders are following the requisite rules and regulations.

The inspection drive was conducted upon the directions of DC Baramulla Mohammad Aijaz Asad as part of his endeavours to provide smooth and hassle free public services.

During inspection, 20 vehicles were blacklisted for violating several norms and regulations as enshrined in Motor Vehicles Act. The ARTO said that such drives shall be conducted on routine basis so as to ensure smooth movement of vehicles as well and the commuters

Missing Minor’s Body Found In Budgam

Budgam: A 12-year-old boy who was missing for the last five days was found dead in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Tuesday.

Official sources told GNS said that the locals in the morning informed the police about the body lying at Soibugh area of the district.

Later, a police team reached the spot and recovered the body from the site, they said.

The body has been identified as that of Shahid Farooq Malik (12) son of Farooq Ahmad Malik of Shahmohalla Soibugh Budgam.

The boy, they said, was missing for the last five days.

Police said that a case has been registered in this regard and further investigations have been initiated.
