The half up/half down hairstyle has me in a chokehold right now😍
For all my fellow lazy naturals, this hairstyle is it! Between the holiday weekend & work, I’ve been overwhelmed & wash day is the furthest thing from my mind. Not only can I modify this hairstyle in several ways but it’s easy and not as time consuming as other styles. Slicked back my hair using to slick back my hair & used a butterfly clip to elevate the baby puff a little more to give the illusion of longer hair. What’s your favorite easy go to hairstyle?

I feel like I’ve finally mastered the half up/ half down hairstyle! Used Supercurl Cream & Curly Magic gel to achieve great definition & to slick back the front part of my hair. Love this style not only for the holidays but since my hair has gotten super long, this keeps my hair out of my face. What’s your favorite hairstyle this season?

Over the past year I’ve been challenged with the issue of my hair texture changing due to medication. And while it has been a journey, I do have to appreciate the moments where I’m learning to adjust to this new texture & it’s strange patterns. It’s helped me adapt to the concept that “anything can shift at any given time” and the idea that you either have to adjust to the change or go against it. I love my hair & the lessons it’s taught me along this journey.

Inspired by ’s claw clip hairstyle🤍 To be completely honest, I ran out of gel this morning and the front of my hair looked like a frizzy mess but I loved how the back of my hair was still giving some definition. Decided to give a try to this version of a half up half down & I love it 😍 I usually hate half up half down hairstyles because it makes my head look huge but I will definitely be doing this hairstyle a lot more now (with more gel too 🙃). What do you guys think?

Are all compliments necessarily good compliments? I recently wore this hairstyle somewhere & had someone make the following comments: “Your hair looks different today” “It’s bigger than usual” “I just wanna touch it” And here I am feeling awkward and almost a bit embarrassed while they’re talking to me. Awkward because I can tell this person doesn’t know any better but also the comments weren’t necessary. Embarrassed because I brought this attention upon myself by doing something different to my hair. But were those positive compliments? Thoughts?

First post of 2022 is bare faced, no editing, no filters, no lightroom & absolutely raw😅
2021 was a whirlwind of emotions and lots of covering up my feelings. Doing things I didn’t necessarily want to do for myself but what I did for others. Too much silence on my end & it tired me out. Much of this past year was me finally seeing what was in front of me & not what I wanted to see or believe. So I am devoting 2022 to being effortlessly me & growing into the woman I want to become. Here’s to 2022🥂

Quick little life update: last few days of work got me exposed to covid & also made me realize all my December work problems can easily become January work problems by just saying no 🙂 In all seriousness, everyone (especially my fellow New Jerseyians & New Yorkers) please be safe during this holiday season, take care of yourselves & be mindful of how your actions affect others! My biggest 2022 goal: being kind to myself💜
As the year comes to an end, it’s that time to look back & reflect on how it went. Unfortunately, I haven’t been the nicest person to myself. Mentally, I went through a whole lot😓 and not once was I nice to myself. 2022 is the year to be gentle with myself (while also pushing myself to achieve some personal goals). Hope you’re all being gentle & kind to yourselves in the next year too!

4 days post wash day ➡️ 1 day after curl refreshing🤩
Every natural knows that we base “great” wash days off of how long our curls last but did you know curl refreshing helps your curls last & look great for a longer period of time? I curl refresh when my curls are starting to look dull & I’m too lazy to go through a whole wash day process. Here I used the same product I originally styled with on damp hair. The haircut bounce 🔙
Literally this haircut brought my hair back to life. If you’ve been following for a while you know I’ve been very discouraged with how dead and ridiculous my hair looked. It was super overgrown, super frizzy and very limp. Superrrr lame 😒 Cut off your dead ends for growth…& I’m not just talking about the hair😉💜
