The Amendment to gradually reduce use of HFCs by the late 2040s was adopted by 197 countries in Rwanda in October 2016. Under its commitment to the Montreal Protocol, India will complete its phase down of HFCs, used in air-conditioners, refrigerators and insulating foams, in four steps from 2032 onwards with cumulative reduction of 10% in 2032, 20% in 2037, 30% in 2042 and 80% in 2047 over 2024-26 baseline....
