Follow up on my last video : Mamie Fish in The Gilded Age. Harry Lehr's wife was Elizabeth Wharton Drexel. She was told on her wedding night, by Harry, that he found women's bodies repulsive. He had married her for her money because poverty terrified him (sounds like Oscar Van Rhijn, in the show, doesn't it). So she did know of his homosexuality, yet she stayed with him till his death even as women were getting divorced such as Alva Vanderbilt who divorced her husband in 1895 (about 12 -13 years from the date of season 1 of TGA)....
