I’m known for my silly phrases!

One of them is, “Books are like babies…the creator always thinks it’s the most stunning thing on the planet!”

Yes, silly, but also very true.

When you write a book, it’s impossible to be impartial, just like when you’re a parent.

It’s why there are so many books on Amazon with terrible reviews - the author thought their book was amazing. The world didn't agree.

BUT – how to get media attention?

As an author, you already have more credibility than the average person, but there are a few ‘ninja’ tactics you can use that turn you into a media magnet.

Luckily, I will be lifting the lid on the inner workings of what journalists look for (I’m a former journalist) at the Thought Leader Author Forum this Wednesday at 12pm.

Let’s get down to the fundamentals of thought leadership.

We live in a world where there is content, be it videos, text, or audio, at our fingertips whenever we want it.

And yet, when most people are asked to imagine a thought leader, they don’t envisage someone creating an Instagram Reel, speaking on a podcast or writing an article…

They imagine someone on a stage.

That’s because there’s still an element of prestige and respect when someone can get on a stage and speak with clarity and passion.

I’m not saying being present on social media, speaking on podcasts and other shows and writing authority-boosting articles don’t have their place in a thought leader’s journey…

But speaking is up there as one of the most effective, especially when you’re a purpose-driven individual who needs to get your ideas and mission out to the wider world for mass adoption.

So, how do you go about getting speaking engagements as quickly as possible?

Well, being an author greatly helps! However, there are a few fundamentals that MUST be in place to help you leverage a book to get the best speaking engagements.
