Studies have shown that keeping indoor plants improves our mental and physical health. Heres a study I found that cites credible sources for one area.

Mental Health
1. Improves Concentration and Productivity. According to a study published in the Journal of Environmental Psychology, the mere presence of plants boosts a person’s ability to maintain attention and concentration. Along the same line, other studies have suggested that plants at work can increase productivity by 15%.

We would all automatically veer to growth mindset but Carol Dweck, a lead researcher on the topic, states that as humans, we operate in both a fixed and growth mindset.

How is it possible to operate in both a fixed and growth mindset you ask? Here’s an example: Most humans have a fixed mindset about jumping (unaided) off a cliff. No amount of belief in your ability to fly; no amount of “hard work and practice” (e.g. jumping off a stair, a table, etc.) will prepare you to fly. Knowing that you cannot fly and that no amount of work will change your ability to fly, is a normal, appropriate (life-saving) fixed mindset.

HOW TO MAKE A GRATITUDE JAR..
🏺Go buy a new jar especially for this. (Setting an intention)
🔖 Cut up small pieces of paper
✍️ write 1 thing on each paper, get creative, use colours, pictures, faces.
🌻Place them in the jar
🚀Keep the jar somewhere you can see it all the time (mines in my kitchen)
🤍whenever I get triggered I open up the jar and read all the things I wrote..
🎵 To enhance this process I play my happy place tunes!
By the second piece of paper I’m dancing around with big smiles…
👨‍👩‍👧 This is a great one to do with the kids too!

Stuck in a mental fog?
5 ways to clear your mind.

1 Avoid doomscrolling!
Constant exposure to crises wreaks havoc with our well-being and can lead to bad decision making.

2 Digital detox
Social media, apps, our phone is controlling everything we do! Reduce consumption, set periods of use and take short breaks.

3 Get Moving! (preferably in nature) being out in more natural settings is helpful for our well-being and has positive effects on our cognition.

4 Stay connected to others!
Research shows that being cut off from other humans harms our memory, concentration, decision-making, and learning. Being around others improves them.

5 Try new challenges!
Push yourself to learn something new, step out of your comfort zone, it’s our biggest area of growth.

Here are 5 suggestions on how you may start decluttering your mind.

1. Declutter Your Physical Environment. Physical clutter leads to mental clutter.

2. Write It Down. ...make a list..output your thoughts somewhere.

3. Keep a Journal. ...(you know how I love a journal!)

4. Let Go of the Past…stop giving the past Brain space!

5. Limit the Amount of Information Coming In…multi screening may save time but not your mind!

We all have these Mondays sometimes and it’s okay!!!
Our mind runs through 50,000-70,000 thoughts a day, 95% are the same as yesterday.
Taking tiny steps to create change will make a huge difference to avoid these moments of forgetfulness. I have started to keep a notebook next to my bed, where I brain dump at night before bed and the same first thing in the morning.

A fixed mindset never serves your highest good so always try to positively reframe your situation.

Positive reframing involves thinking about a negative or challenging situation in a more positive way. This could involve thinking about a benefit or upside to a negative situation that you had not considered. Alternatively, it can involve identifying a lesson to be learned from a difficult situation.  Finding something to be grateful about in a challenging situation is a type of positive reappraisal.

A “growth mindset,” on the other hand, thrives on challenge and sees failure not as evidence of unintelligence but as a heartening springboard for growth and for stretching our existing abilities. Out of these two mindsets, which we manifest from a very early age, springs a great deal of our behavior, our relationship with success and failure in both professional and personal contexts, and ultimately our capacity for happiness.
Let’s start the week strong with a growth mindset. Who’s with me?
