After many years since his latest album, Riccardo Turcato, also known as Poly2000 or RDMGRL, has finally released a new musical project: a concept album dedicated to Olga, his four-legged companion who shared life with him and his family for 9 years.
In the last 9 months of her life, Olga bravely battled a formidable foe: lymphoma. Numbers, as they say, never lie, and in this case, there are 9 tracks comprising the album. Each one represents a musical snapshot telling an anecdote from Olga's life.
"When I founded this record label in 2020, I could never have imagined that just a few months later we would lose Olga. Today, this album is a tender tribute to all the moments we shared together."
In this album you can find all the influences that accompanied Riccardo's musical journey from 2012 to 2021. The tracks sound like acid techno and classical electro, with never boring structures, thanks to the iconic Japanese drum machines, the filtered and saturated fat bass, the FM synths. The voices are filtered through a vocoder. The album concludes with a sample of Olga howling at the sound of an ambulance passing by.
