Well, the bank holiday weekend got off to a great start for us yesterday with a 'business brunch' in Wetherspoons where we finalised Book 4 in our Creative Writing series, getting it ready to upload to Amazon before the end of the weekend. We then went to bask in the luxuriousness of the new Downton Abbey film before returning home for good ol' fish fingers, chips and beans for tea. So, it's been a fabulous bank holiday so far and I haven't even mentioned the glorious weather yet!

It's been a bit of a busy week for Kimly Craig with the return to school after the Easter holidays among other things, but we will be very happy to get back to our beloved books today. Our Creative Writing Workbook for Year 4 is due to be published in the next week so a business meeting at our local, The Old George, is on the cards and completing the wordsearches ourselves one of the perks! And while we might be very much looking forward to moving to Scotland in a few short months' time, we know that a beautiful sunrise is a beautiful sunrise, wherever you might be 🤩.

Found this great idea for a fun way to practise spellings at home on The Little Learning Shed page.

Just wanted to share this quick and easy activity to help your child practise their spellings. It can be so boring to have to practise weekly spellings so any activities that can be effective and easy to create are a useful addition to have up your sleeve. This fun activity is easily made using a connect four set and some stickers. Cover have the docs with stickers marked with the letters needed to make up the words that need practising, and off you go! So much more fun than read,cover, write, check. Tip: put in a row of plain discs in the bottom row so it is easier to see the letter discs as they are added. Have fun!
