8 years ago started the amazing BEN DID GO prone paddle event, as he set out to fund 1 of our $10,000 scholarships that year by himself, all in honor of his friend Ben.
Each year since - the paddle has grown tremendously, inspiring so many to join on the 30 mile quest from Catalina to Newport, and has brought in hundreds of thousands of dollars to help fund annual scholarships and to support water safety efforts of the Ben Carlson Foundation around the world.
Spencer’s vision and effort, in combination with support of many board members, and a couple hundred paddlers to this point, has been nothing less than incredible.
Ben’s legacy is alive and well, and will shine again this Saturday as 120 paddlers take on the BEN DID GO 8.0!!
Thank you Spencer! And thank you to everyone in this epic community for your support! 🙏🤙❤️🇺🇸

I have wanted to come here since I moved to LA 10 years ago, and when I finally decided to go for it, it was 2 hours before the last boat left. Everything worked out perfectly.
Except... I almost died three times trying to learn snorkeling only from YouTube videos; Also it was I who thought for my first snorkel trip, I should be by myself in the ocean with no one around. Never said I was smart! 😝🙃
