2024 was a huge year for us. Darwin really turned on the talent and had us recording, mixing and producing some amazing releases for a heap of super talented artists both locally and interstate. Our Sands Showcase was back for its second year and was completely sold out once again - we even had our first interstate headliner! I couldn’t be more proud to say we grabbed our first major award from the studio, with Emily Wurramara’s album ‘NARA’ being nominated for 2 ARIA’s and winning Best Adult Contemporary Album, with all drums recorded right here at Sands. Our in-house boys and went down for their first Triple J Like a Version, as well as a tone of great festivals all across Australia - but enough of that. The new year is here, and we have a heap of time to get working on some new projects, shoot us a message as let’s make 2025 even better.

‘NARA’ by just took out Best Adult Contemporary Album of the Year in the awards. All drums for this record were tracked and engineered here at Sands in Darwin by . Proud is an understatement.

As the local gig seasons end is upon us we still have plenty of slots available here at Sands to get your new project happening over the next few months. Our local drummer boy Rowan is back and keener than ever for any session work with cheaper rates and faster turnarounds for the Christmas break. Hit up the team 🎤

Over the last year since opening Sands we’ve put together a team of local and interstate creatives to help get your project done right.

Sands own OG owner operator Rowie Diezil is our in-house head engineer and session drummer. He’s worked on everything from reggae to metal and is always down to play nerd or crawl around the floor in search of new sounds.

Boasting over 5M Spotify streams, Ward Hancock has returned from his interstate musical endeavours and is working as our very own in house Producer. Ward has the vision to help you get your track off the ground and is an amazing session player too - so you already know he can give your project what it needs.

Manolis Kamitsis of Lovely Audio has partnered with us as our very own head Mix and Mastering Engineer. Nolly specialises in bands but is no stranger to all types of projects - meaning now you can have the entire process of your song handled within our doors.

Previously of , Ward flew up from Lismore to work at Sands for his new album. Following a new direction to many of his previous works, together we recorded 14 amazing tunes - each with its own style and story.
