Have you ever heard of the Tommyknockers?

I don't mean the book by Stephen King, even though it's loosely based on this piece of folklore.

The impish, gnome-like men are the Cornish equivalent of Irish leprechauns and English brownies.
They actually believed these little men were the souls of the Jews who crucified Christ and were sent by the Romans to work as slaves in the tin mines.

They're said to be about 2 ft tall and often described as greenish in color. They look like men mostly and are often seen wearing a traditional miner's outfit.

Living underground they have been known to have committed both good and bad deeds throughout the centuries.

The name "knockers," pronounced "knackers," stems from the knocking on the mining walls that often happens just before a cave-in. Some of these sounds of "hammering" were malevolent, indicating certain death or injury.
Others saw their "knocking" as a warning to the miners a life-threatening collapse was imminent.

Savannah, Georgia -

Not much is known about Joseph Conklin.
He worked at a local Walmart, was into B**M, was an occultist who practiced the dark arts and had an obsession with the Necronomicon.
He even wrote a follow-up book to it called "Necronomicon Revelations" and sold it as a set with cards featuring an embossed sigil where if you wrote your own on the back, you could open different gates to hell, or call upon demons.

Conklin has been missing since the mid-200p. There has been no clues, traces, or evidence as to where he is or if he's even still alive.

📰 BREAKING NEWS 📰

News reports say Erik & Lyle Menendez my be released.

In August 1989, 18-year-old Erik and 21-year-old Lyle Menendez murdered their parents, Jose and Kitty, while they were watching television in the living room of their Beverly Hills home.

The motive - Jose Menendez subjected the boys to physical and sexual abuse for years while their mother, an unstable alcoholic who also abused them, did nothing to stop it.

Gascón, the DA, announced Thursday that his office is reviewing new evidence in the case of now 53-year-old Erik and 56-year-old Lyle Menendez.

The brothers asked the court to vacate their conviction, which resulted in a life prison sentence without the possibility of parole, in a petition filed back in May, citing new evidence.
A letter written to a family member from Lyle about the abuse years before the murders, also, testimonies of others who have come forward about abuse they suffered at the hands of Jose.

Do you believe in haunted objects?

The story behind this photograph fascinated me, so of course, I had to share it!

A young man moved from Chicago to the Ukranian Village neighborhood. While the landlord was showing him the property he, noticed a trap door in one of the hallways.

She explained that in the early 1900s Chicago folks disliked the Ukranian population and actively sought out to find and deport immigrants. There were often raids in the Ukranian Village so her great grandfather, who built many houses in the neighborhood, made all of his houses with trap doors to a secret basement so that family members with no papers could hide out during a raid.

They went down to the basement because he was curious, they came to a broken glass wall with this photo.

The landlord seemed shocked, explaining the photograph was of her grandfather...She went on to explain how this was the fifth time she's found this photo in one of her family's properties, saying this exact photo shows up in random places mostly when new tenants are moving in she'll discover the photo.
This really creeped her out to discover it again and the two left the basement.

Before Ryan moved out of that apartment he went to the creepy basement and broke the remainder of the glass, taking it with him while he moved around Chicago the next 5-6 years. When he made the move to Savannah he had very few possessions, but he noticed the photo was missing, figuring it got left behind one of the several moves and more or less forgot about it.

When rearranging things a little over a year later, the photo was found where it had never been placed.

Life has been crazy lately, between work, school, and hotel hopping for over a month due to mold in my apartment, I have been displaced - but don't fret, I will have new creepy and spooky content coming your way soon!

One of my favorite spots to visit when in Key West is the Key West cemetery, of course.

It's vast, it's peaceful, it's full of eclectic tombstones from snarky to silly to sad.

I had never seen the doggo one until my most recent trips a few weeks ago.

Took a trip to the Earnest Hemmingway house today in Key West.

Learned a lot of history about the author and the home.

Did you know there are 59 cats on property? I know that's not a spooky fact, but from what I hear this space is haunted, so keep an eye out for it in a future episode!

One night police were called by a neighbor to a domestic dispute.

Upon arrival to the home, they opened the door, greeted by a load of sewer rats flooding out of the home.
Finding no one home, the lights on as well as the TV but it was down low.
The arguing voices heard had completely disappeared.

Searching the house - every nook, cranny, and corner, they found no one.

I waited around to see if anyone would come home but after a few hours no one did so they went on their way.
A few minutes later, they get a call from a different neighbor stating there was a pretty heated argument going on - in the same home.

Officers went back, this time with the K-9 unit, only to find the house still deserted
Only...the toilet had been recently flushed - the cistern was still filling, the kettle was boiling on the stove.

Even the dogs found no one in the home.

Could the home be haunted?

🫀Spooky Space: Easter Island🫀

At only 63 miles, Easter Island holds more mystery for its size than anywhere else.

Many Rapa Nui report strange feelings, apparitions, even voices speaking the ancient tribal language while in the presence of Moai.

Could this be due to the Moai statues - one of Easter Island's trademark images - said to be inhabited by the spirits of the dead island chiefs they represent?

Perhaps it has something to do with the virtual disappearance of the people who made them...

The question of how did the 30 large stone statues get moved from the place they were carved - some as far as 14 miles- is still unanswered.

🎙️ Spooky Space: Morris - Jumel Mansion🎙️

Built as a family home in 1765, the Mansion sits atop Coogen's Bluff - the second highest point in Manhattan.

After it was confiscated by the city of New York, the home became a lookout for varying troops throughout the American Revolution, including George Washington.

With multiple deaths that took place in the home, it's no wonder the spirits still roam its halls.
