Today's Beake's Peaks looks at the challenges of life. Sometimes we are thrown swerve balls and each day can be like climbing a mountain. Our mental health plays funny tricks on us, for me my negative voice, who I call Moany Joany, seems to shout louder. You are pathetic, you are useless you are not worthy. When real people serve to confirm that by being unkind it can play havoc with our sense of self. Each day is a challenge with people poking and prodding, driving at 30 in a 60 and 60 in a 30. Irritating. So, my message is, that to climb the mountain we must first get out of bed. And if that is the challenge that day and you manage to get out of bed then you are a success. You are valued and you can go on to achieve the next step of the day. Place value on yourself. Name that negative voice and tell it to quieten down. Life is all about the journey and once you do get to the top of that mountain, what next? Here's my advice. Don't look down.
