The room that was our wardens' bedchamber is now Madame's study, but it is also where our window bed is now. I like to jump from this table to the bottom bunk to demonstrate my athletic prowess.

Today the house was filled with humans; I believe I counted 13 in all. Some of them were visiting from far away. I displayed myself for them and all were charmed, but no one whisked me off to a fairytale life somewhere else. Luigi was actually very brave and, after briefly hiding upstairs, came down and lurked at the edges of the parlor. He did walk over to a baby human--too young yet to be an inquisitor--and look at it, which made it cry. I am almost proud of him for that.

In acknowledgement of Madame's birthday, I have graced her with immediate proximity to myself twice. (with a blanket as a barrier, of course) Once was just after midnight when she laid down in the bedchamber, whereupon I jumped on the bed and laid on her foot and then, when she did not get the hint that I wanted her to move so I could act insulted and leave, I splayed myself across her whole leg. That did the trick! Then in the afternoon, after she gave me a particularly good treat, I laid beside her on the couch for a bit and purred. It was a coincidence; she was under a blanket I particularly enjoy. But still, perhaps it satisfied her sufficiently that she will not try to pet me again for a while.

This afternoon a tiny baby pet pig led its humans on a merry chase through the neighborhood, which culminated in its recapture just across the street. Luigi found this all very fascinating and watched the action most intently.

Today our wardens stole our beautiful hook-like claw tips. I tried to show Luigi that although this is criminal and a deep betrayal, if you just stay still and grumble a bit you get a whole Churu out of the ordeal. Somehow I got all of my clawtips stolen away because I was brave, but the big kitten was a "scaredy-cat" and only got his front ones nicked off. And he still got a whole Churu! I must speak to the authorities about this--

My wardens bought a new bed, put it together, and keep moving it around as they add other things to their bed chamber. I did enjoy walking on the slats, but once they put the mattress on it became something truly wonderful. Perhaps they intended it to be a dungeon of sorts, but it is in fact a subterranean playground for savvy beautiful cats, and also for Luigi. We chase each other around in this dimly lit, cat-sized space whenever it pleases us--midnight, seven o'clock in the morning, &c.

I think Luigi has gotten slightly more independent of late. Sometimes now he goes into a different room than me for several minutes at a time. Truly remarkable progress.
