Thank you to everyone who made this an event to remember. This wasn’t an easy event as we had to fight an uphill battle to get the walking ceremony together after the school district was unable to participate. Pretty sure no other grad class in BC had anything like ours. This grad will be one for the books, and we are confident will also be the beginning of new traditions at PHSS.
A most important, and HUGE thank you to the citizens of Port Hardy, and the extended families of our grads. You listened when we asked you to watch from home. You listened when we asked you to respect our space and leave the park for us to watch our kids in person in the safest manner possible. We can’t thank everyone enough for that kindness.
Thank you to the District Of Port Hardy for working hard with us to make sure we stayed within the rules of COVID 19. They could have easily said no, but were supportive of making sure our kids had a day to remember.
Thank you to Alfons Bauer and Jane Catarata for the photography, and Holly Kunstar for the cap and gown livestream and Nikki Knighton for the Carrot Park livestream. Thank you to the Blue Sox for helping with parking and attendance at the park, and thank you to the North Island Gazette and North Island Eagle for their coverage of grad. Thank you for a two plane salute by Wilderness Seaplanes and the RCMP, PHVFD & BC Ambulance escorted parade around town! There are many, many others to thank, and an announcement will be forthcoming in the paper.
Take care, and congratulations to our grads. We are so proud of you all. ❤️
