Journal of General and Molecular Virology The Journal of General and Molecular Virology (JGMV) is a peer reviewed journal. In addition, the journal also welcomes letters and commentaries to the editor.

The journal is published per article and covers all areas of the subject such as: Isolation of chikungunya virus from non-human primates, Functional analysis of Lassa virus glycoprotein from a newly identified Lassa virus strain for possible use as vaccine using computational methods, as well as Molecular approaches towards analyzing the viruses infecting maize. JGMV welcomes submission of full-length research articles, short communications and review articles.

Maize lethal necrosis and the molecular basis of variability in concentrations of the causal viruses in co-infected maize plant

This review looks at the current knowledge on MLN causative viruses, genetic architecture and molecular basis underlying their synergistic interactions. Lastly, some research gaps towards MLN management will be identified.

The potential of house fly, Musca domestica (L.) in the mechanical transmission of influenza A subtype H1N1 virus under laboratory conditions

The objectives of this study were to examine the efficiency of house fly legs in picking up the influenza H1N1 virus particles, persistency of the virus particles on the legs at different time interval, viability of the virus dislodged from the legs and the presence of the virus in vomitus and f***l discharge of the house flies.
