NBI ARRESTS TWELVE FOR ILLEGAL QUARRYING

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) today announced the arrest of twelve (12) individuals by the NBI-Environmental Crime Division (NBI-EnCD) in Rodriguez, Rizal for illegal quarrying activities.

NBI Officer-in-Charge (OIC)-Director Eric B. Distor identified the arrested subjects as ERICSON CINCO y MAYO, RAUL GARCIA y LOBETANA, WINDEL BUENO y TALAGA, PABLO RIMORIN y GAPASIN, NICO YUNAPA, ROLDAN BONIFE y HONOR, DEXTER COLAS y COCOY, JOJIE MANZANILLO y DE GUZMAN, ALBERT ESTO y COCOY, FERNANDO LOPEZ y CRISTY, RANDY CAGANAN y LORING, and DANIEBOY ALEJANDRO y SALEM.

Director Distor said that the operation stemmed from the information received by the NBI-EnCD on August 26, 2021, regarding with the alleged rampant illegal mining/quarrying activities being conducted by certain individuals in Barangay San Isidro, Rodriguez, Rizal. The information also revealed that this group of individuals were extracting and disposing minerals without the necessary permit from the Provincial Mining Regulatory Board of the Province of Rizal and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Mines and Geosciences Bureau Region IV (DENR-MGB Region IV).

Thereafter, NBI-EnCD operatives immediately conducted a series of surveillance operations in the said area which confirmed the existence of ongoing quarrying operation.

A certification issued by DENR-MGB on October 12, 2021 states that there was no valid and existing Mineral Production Sharing Agreement or Industrial Sand and Gravel Permit that was issued for the extraction of materials in relation to the sanitary landfill project in the Municipality Rodriguez, Rizal. The certification also provides that based on the data provided by the Provincial Mining Regulator Board of Rizal, as of 2nd Quarter of 2021, no valid and existing Quarry Permit, Industrial Sand and Gravel, Small Scale Mining Contract or Special Permit to Transport and Dispose was issued in relation to the sanitary landfill project in the said municipality.
Thus, on October 18, 2021, joint operatives led by the NBI-EnCD together with the personnel from the DENR-MGB Region IV-A proceeded to Barangay San Isidro, Rodriguez, Rizal which resulted in the arrest of the subjects. The operation also resulted in the seizure of 13 unit backhoe, 3 unit bulldozer, 1 unit drill rig, 6 unit dump truck, 6 unit conveyor belts, 40 M3 S1 manufactured sand and 9,000 M3 extracted / liberated aggregates with a total estimated value of Php 36,465,000.00.

On October 19, 2021, the twelve (12) arrested subjects were presented for inquest proceedings before the Office of Provincial Prosecutor of Rizal for violation of Section 103 (Theft of Minerals) under R.A. 7942, otherwise known as the “Philippine Mining Act of 1995”. In Addition, JOSE ALLAN CRUZ y ABARRA (at-large), was also included in the charged for the same violation of the law.

Isang illegal quarry sa Montalban na MALAPIT sa MUSLIM CEMETERY ang sinalakay ng mga operatiba ng NBI. Ito ay naganap ngayon lamang. Makikita sa video na wala umano sa maayos na standard ang pag-quarry sa nasabing lugar.

Ito ay patunay na may mga quarry operations sa Montalban na di maayos o walang kaukulang permit.

OVER 1.6 BILLION PESOS WORTH OF SHABU IS SEIZED IN ANTI-DRUG STING LED BY THE PHILIPPINE DRUG ENFORCEMENT AGENCY

240 kilograms of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu estimated to be worth P1.656 Billion pesos was seized in an anti-drug operation launched by a multi-agency force led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency today, October 16, 2021, at around 3:30PM in Brgy. Salitran 2, Along Aguinaldo Highway, Dasmariñas City, Cavite
Wilfredo Blanco Jr.-37 yrs old, and Megan Lemon Pedroro-38 yrs old, both residents of Kasiglahan Village Rodriguez Rizal were arrested in a buy-bust operation staged by joint elements of PDEA 4A, PDEA IIS, PDEA SES, PDEA NCR, AFP TF NOAH, NICA, PDEG-RONCR, BOC, RID-NCRPO, PDEG SOU4, PPO Cavite & Dasmariñas CPS.

This huge drug haul comes at the heels of an anti-drug operation earlier this month where 149 kilograms of shabu worth over 1 billion pesos was seized by combined law enforcement and military elements led by PDEA in a buy-bust operation launched on October 1, 2021 in Barangay Molino 3 Bacoor Cavite.
An unmarked Toyota Hi Ace White Van was recovered from the arrested suspects who will be charged with violations of Sections 5 and 11 of RA 9165.

I just got vaccinated. Yes you saw it right, sa Marikina pa ko nakapag pa vaccine.
Since birth, sa Montalban ako nakatira, registered voter, tax payer name it lahat sa Montalban.
I registered in Resbakuna Montalban, ilang buwan na nakalipas, wala akong natanggap na kahit na anong text or heads up, about my vaccine schedule.
Drive Thru vaccine schedule (walk ins are welcome) I even fall in line at exactly 3:00am pero 10:00am nag cut off at sinabi hindi na kami aabot sa gamot.
Then I decided to register na in some other nearby areas. Gulat ako, friday ako nag register sa Marikina, pero Saturday tinawagan na ko for today schedule. (Diba?)
When I got there, yung pila, sobrang convenient sa mga tao. Lahat may monoblock para nakaupo at secure ang social distancing.
7:00am scheduled vaccine ko, 7:00am I was there 8:30 I got vaccinated.
Organized at hindi mo kailangan mainitan at pumila ng walang kasiguraduhan kung mababakunahan ka o hindi. Take note, you can be able to choose anong vaccine ang gusto mo.
At eto pa ha, may pa breakfast at pa bottled water pa.
Now ko naisip, gano ka unorganized ung sistema sa Montalban, lahat inabot na ng pila sa labas walang social distancing at pila at your own risk.
Grabe, wala na nga akong ayuda na nakuha sa montalban simulat sapul, sa ibang lugar pa ko nakapag pa bakuna. Ano kayang benepisyo makukuha ko sa bayan ko? 😅

Sulfur Dioxide (SO2) levels in parts of Luzon are currently high due to the activity of Taal Volcano. Sulfur Dioxide from Fukutoku-Okanoba Submarine Volcano in Japan is currently affecting Batanes.

- Vog (volcanic smog) is affecting the mentioned areas as Taal Volcano is still producing Sulfur Dioxide due to its activity. Air quality in these areas are expected to reach unhealthy levels. Hazy conditions are expected.

Two bridges constructed in Malasya, Puray, Montalban, Rizal lasted for two months only. It was a local government project. Several culverts were rolled onto the river, dry season at that time, joints were filled with sand and cement was poured on it just like an icing on a cake. There was no steal bar, oops steel bar at all (as seen on the photo). I can't help but compare it with the century old bridges made of steel and some of concrete during the Spanish and American period. Some are still existing and passable. A GOVERNMENT PROJECT POORLY DONE IS TANTATMOUNT TO STEALING FROM THE PEOPLE. Hmmm, steel and steal a rhyme that some people love to hear. By the way, steel is readily available nowadays and yet it seems elusive to this contractor.

The wooden hanging bridge has been dilapidated for so long and is very dangerous. Notice the young lady crossing the slippery wooden bridge. Imagine yourself doing the same.

This is area is inhabited mostly by the Remontados and Kabaaks belonging to Dumagat tribe, though there are some migrants from the city. This is a common scenario in the far flung areas, areas where people are meek and submissive. They feel so bad and isolated. They were better off without the bridge that is now blocking their path.
