5% of the things we do on a daily basis are conscious.
the other 95% of our words and actions are subconscious in nature, from a place of autopilot. this is our nurture; the beliefs that have been instilled in us by the people around us since we were young.
as generations progress, we clash with our parents and grandparents due to so many things, the largest being arguably the beliefs and values that we have learned to develop that differ from what our predecessors were given. this cultural shift can be huge, harming many of our closest familial relationships.
one of the take-home messages from this episode is: forgive those around you for the behaviours that are instilled in them outside of their conscious awareness. you are allowed to be free of what beliefs your family raised you to have and develop your own. be patient and try to educate them on your position if they are willing to learn; and even if no one listens, all that matters is that you stand in your upmost integrity and stay unconditionally yourself.
