Just wanted everyone to know that the next episode of the Grimes Sisters Murders is in production and almost ready for release. These two types of vehicles figure in pretty heavily in the disappearance of the girls.

When I had a chance to sit down to talk with Sandy Bauer Gezik about her best friend Patricia Grimes I was honored to have been able to see the friendship ring that Loretta Grimes gave to Sandy for being a pallbearer. (she was too little to help carry the casket but walked alongside). She also showed me the bottle of Faberge perfume that Patricia had given to her that Christmas. She said that she remembered waving goodbye to them as they walked down the sidewalk on their way to see the Elvis Presley movie, "Love Me Tender". She never saw them again. She had taped the bottle closed so that the perfume would never evaporate. She actually bought one just like it so that she could tell how it actually smelled.

The drink for our next episode of the Unsolved Murders of Barbara and Patricia Grimes is The Bertha.

In honor of March being Women's History Month, we thought a drink inspired by Bertha Palmer and designed by the Palmer House would be a great idea.

2oz Vodka
1oz Cointreau
1oz Pomegranate Juice
1 teaspoon or 5 dashes of Lemon Juice.
(I like the juice of one half lemon hand-squeezed.

Half fill a shaker with ice and combine all ingredients.
Shake vigorously and strain into a martini glass
garnish with a lemon wedge.

Our 3rd episode should be out by afternoon tomorrow, Sunday March 14th!

Our second episode of the Grimes Sisters Murder is up and available to listen to. This episode is quite a bit longer than the first but I could only trim so much. We reach out to the listening public for help and it brings listeners up to speed on the case until we got involved in the investigative journalism.

For the 2nd episode of the Grimes Murder series which will be available Sunday 2/21, Tiff has chosen the "Chicago Cocktail" as the featured mix.

The drink has been around since the 19th century and this is the recipe featured by John Drury in his 1931 book, "Dining in Chicago"

Fill a mixing glass half full of broken ice.

Add one or two dashes of Angostura Bitters,

Three dashes of Curacao

One half a gill (2 ounces) of Brandy.

Add an olive or cherry, squeeze a lemon peel and drop it into the glass.

Stir well and then pour a little Champagne (or sparkling white wine) to taste on top.

Before straining it all into a cocktail glass coat the rim of the glass using a wedge of lemon and and dip into pulverized sugar. (regular granulated sugar will work in a pinch)

Strain mixture into glass and enjoy!

These are two photos that were taken by the Chicago Sun-Times. I purchased the negatives from the sale they had of old photographs. Both show an anguished mother hoping and praying that her daughters return home safe.

People have been asking a lot about how often we will be posting new episodes. Right now we are looking at every two weeks and more than likely releasing on a Sunday. That is what we are shooting for.

Well, this has been 11 years in the making. Since I left police work back in 2005, my heart and soul have been poured into helping the Grimes family get closure. I have been threatened to leave this case alone and well...you know how well I respond to threats. Please share this with everyone. We are hoping that all the new information we bring to the public and the public caring enough to listen and share what they know we can bring this nightmare to an end.
