Created in the 1880s as Moxie Nerve Food (touted to cure everything from nervous exhaustion to loss of manhood), the soft drink is celebrated today by Mainers with a taste for something other than Coke, Pepsi or root beer.

Dear listeners,
The Al Brady episode is coming, I'm recording more today. I took some time off to recover from COVID and to also have a couple existential crisises about the importance (Or lack thereof) of the work I am doing for the show.

It's coming and I am excited to make art for y'all again

I love you all

So I'm going to lean more into the comedic tone moving forward. Sure, I've been doing it this entire time because my voice as a writer has always been laid back and light hearted,
But now I am doing it on purpose.

I'm finishing up the script for Al Brady tonight. I'm skipping his last year of robberies because I'm getting bored writing about them (And quite honestly beating a dead horse) maybe I'll do an extended cut on Patreon.

Just as soon as I am ready to do so I am recording again. ❤

I already announced it on my personal page but, I am in the process of writing Tales From The Queen City which will be a video spin off series hosted by me, Joe Ouellette.

I will explore the history of my home town, Bangor Maine. Most of it will be shot at my desk but also expect to see me at local landmarks as well. Start taking bets now on whether or not my head explodes during the Urban Renewal episode.

28/12/2021

Hey y'all, currently working on like 10 episodes at once, because I never learn my lesson

20/11/2021

A new bench was unveiled in New Hampshire to honor the late Charlie Howard, a 23-year-old gay man and Portsmouth native killed by three teenage boys because of his sexuality in Bangor, Maine, in 1984.

08/11/2021

Here is everything I have planned for the show moving forward

Episodes
Al Brady
The Devil's Half Acre
Maine in the Prohibition era
The lost city of Nourmbega.
The Disappearance of The Red Paint People

Mini series
Tales From The Queen City-I just really like writing about Bangor.

I also want to interview some Maine celebrities.

What topics do you want me to cover? What episodes are you excited for?

02/11/2021

Having LOADS of fun writing the Al Brady episode. It will be well worth the wait

12/10/2021

Need a little bit more time on the Al Brady episode. I promise it will be done

07/10/2021

Another announcement!

I'll be re-recording an episode or two from the original run. At least the pirates episode will probably re-recorded with expanded information.

05/10/2021

Next episode is about Al Brady and has a tentative release date of October 12th

To be honest I forgot I had to write this episode I started it way back in June,

"Don't call it a comeback"
Dear listeners,
I'm writing for Jumping Frenchmen again!

I'm also working on setting up interviews as I continue to try and reinvent the show.

Monument Square in Portland, Maine in 1881.

26/08/2021

I'm not willing to call it a hiatus but the weekly countdown is done.
There is more Jumping Frenchmen Podcast to come. I'm just busy right now with work (which is asking me to put in more hours and work weekends)

I'm cooking up stuff though.

20/08/2021

I formally invite Ben to talk about Maine Ghosts on the show

15/08/2021

Well, have you?

I can't wait to go to this...next year. Hopefully with my own table

Unfortunately this year I had no idea when it was and I work tomorrow. But its a goal

This weekend, haunted Fort Knox will be the epicenter of all things unexplained.

12/08/2021

Howdy, it's me, Joe. I'm going to be writing this episode right up until release so...to prevent rushing it we are going to skip the Patreon release. No one has signed up for it any way so it's not that big of a deal.

I promise when I get Patreon backers I'll do Patreon stuff but right now I am extremely busy with work and learning to drive so...Sunday releases for now.

OH HI. I totally forgot the YouTube page existed. Whoops

We might just make it to 2022 yet folks 🤣

This coastal military fort is definitely worth the drive. Not only can you explore the dark hallways and rooms of this abandoned fort, you're a short walk from the beach.

I am currently working on an episode about The Desert of Maine. It really is an interesting story.
I am happy to see it more accessible to everyone❤

Our new beach wheelchair makes the Desert Dunes accessible to more guests than ever! It’s loaned on a first-come, first-served basis, and it requires another guest to push it. When you arrive, inquire with any member of our Welcome Center staff and you’ll be able to visit features like the Spring House Excavation, the 65-foot dune, and the Recovery Zone! Call us if you have any questions. We hope to see you soon!

Also, shout out to WCYY Fan Page who's website just happens to have a lot of information on the haunted places I cover in The Haunted County Countdown.
