Realistic hope daydreaming...

Hopefully you have had a chance now to listen to our new episode on Hope.

One of the tools we talked about was visualisation.

The more you are able to visualise the future and the thing you are hoping for, the more you will begin to believe in it's possibility.

Here are some tips
- Envisage yourself in the ideal scenario
- Imagine there were no limitations
- Feel the physical sensations- is there anything you can touch, taste, smell, hear?
- Notice the emotions you feel in that visualisation

Take time to reflect on the visualisation- did anything surprise you? How hopeful do you feel about achieving the goal now?

With this belief and hope in your goal, this is a great time to work out HOW you will tackle any challenges in the pathway to your goal.

When you think about your future, how much have you pushed and stretched your vision?

Yesterday we posted about the need for realistic hope.

But how many of us are more cynical about hope in general and stay entrenched in the safe, secure and predictable?

This can be very helpful, particularly if we have a lack of belief or have experienced insecurity before.

However stretching those goals and allowing some more hope to come in means we can live much less fearful lives and really reach our potential.

Have a think about where you lack hope in your own goals and how you can tackle the fears holding you back!

Your first quote from the new podcast!

We talk about the importance of realistic hope and that 'you need that feedback of actual change' in order to maintain hope.

It is important to dream big and have a vision for the future, but it is also important to know that there is some reality in it, some potential outcome for you!

This is what keeps hope alive, the belief that it is absolutely possible! Whoop! 🎉

Now that we have the roadmap out of lockdown for instance, so much more seems possible and there is so much more hope!

What are you hoping for in the easing?

I'm looking forward to hugs and coffee and cake in a coffee shop 🤷🏾‍♀️ 🤣

I love this!

Hope is something that I didn't have much of in myself.

I thought that I was just a cynic, not realising that actually I didn't have that belief of things going well and achieving something I aspired to.

Once I had hope though, I realised it's absence and now I feel there perched in my soul and helping me to look up and out!

It's a funny time of year isn't it?

When it get warmer and the signs of spring begin, but you're not sure if there's going to be another snow storm!

Have you seen any signs of spring? So many birds out at the moment- chattering away!

I'm sure the flowers will be blooming soon.

Perhaps they'll align with some hope of seeing friends and family?!

Happy Saturday Folks!

It's grey and rainy here today, but that's ok because I have a nice cwtchy jumper on and increased the heating (slightly- I'm a bit scroogy about it)

Anyway, our next episode is on Hope and I am hopeful of enough snow for my kids to play in tomorrow, and some rainbows and then a beautiful and freer spring!

It has been a really challenging time for hope, because things have changed so much, things we have been hoping for have been postponed, or even cancelled.

But now we know that things are subject to change, maybe we can alter those hopes and make them more about what is in our control, or with more flexible timescales.

What do you think? What are you hoping for in the next 3 months? 6 months? Year?

Ready to train your brain?

Let's get abundant!

One of the main tools we talked about in the podcast was around 21 days of positivity or gratitude.

This works to help re-train your brain so that it spots the positive things that are happening in your everyday life, the things that you can be grateful for.

Here's how:
- for 21 consecutive days (yes consecutive!) write down 3 positives or 3 things you are grateful for ( or a mix of both)
- Each day has to identify something different
- if you miss a day, you have to start again

Let us know if you are beginning this challenge! We'll write a follow up post in a few weeks to see how everyone is getting on

We hope that you have had a chance to enjoy episode 3- Abundance and Scarcity!

We talked about a lot of ways to identify where you are at in terms of a scarcity/ abundance mindset.

This is a spectrum so some days we will feel more abundant, and on others we will feel more scarce. The important thing is to have a good awareness of where you are at overall and how it is impacting on your life.

To recap, some of the things that might identify your mindset are where you are generally in the following areas:

- feelings of plenty or feelings of lack
- thinking big or thinking small
- happiness or resentment
- embracing change or avoiding change
- proactive or reactive
- believing in learning and growth or believing there's nothing else to know
- focus on what is working or what isn't working
- seeing others' success as an opportunity for collaboration or competitiveness

These are of course, direct opposites, and you are likely to be somewhere in the middle on some and perhaps directly identify with one end of the mindset spectrum than the other.

Going through these indicators, was there anything that surprised you or made you aware of something new?

In the next few days we'll explore some tools around abundance/ scarcity mindset to help you with any actions you might want to take forward!

Let's talk toilet roll...

How does
abundance= 1 toilet roll and
scarcity= loads of toilet rolls??

If you have a abundance mindset you'll believe that there's enough bog roll to go round. Having a toilet roll is enough.

If you have a scarcity mindset you'll believe that there is not enough bog roll for all of us. There is never enough toilet roll.

***Limiting Beliefs Workshop***

If you have listened to Episode 2 on Limiting Beliefs you might now be recognising limiting beliefs in your own life, and wondering how you can work on them yourself... If this is the case, we have big news!

We will be running an online workshop on Limiting Beliefs on December 16th!

This will be a great opportunity to;
- Learn more about limiting beliefs
- Get support with facing your own limiting beliefs
- Be guided through some tools to use on your own limiting beliefs
- Get support with tools you are interested in trying
- Ask any questions you have on the subject to both of us in real time
- OR message in some questions and have them answered in the workshop, anonymously

Today was day 3 of the Unlimit your Beliefs Challenge

For the final task of this week, you become your best mate!

Many of the limiting beliefs we hold are our truth and it can be very hard to see them as anything other than this.

So a great way to really see them for that they are is to look at them through another lens.

Looking at the belief you identified from yesterdays challenge, a limiting belief that feels most manageable, imagine that you have told your friend about it in a text message.

Now write, type or voice note yourself back as if you have received that message from one of your friends.

What would you say to your best mate?

Really try to imagine that it is them expressing this belief to you, how would you help them?

Now that you have this recorded, refer back to it regularly in order to really start tackling those limiting beliefs with a new, more supportive script.

Day 2 of the Unlimit your Beliefs challenge!

Todays action is to use the activity from yesterday where you specified how you you would know that you reached your goal.

For each of your three main areas, notice any resistance, any barriers and challenges in your own thoughts and beliefs.

What are you telling yourself about reaching those goals?

After this exploration identify:

- 3 limiting beliefs

- Of the 3, identify one that feels manageable and with least resistance which you can begin to tackle tomorrow!
