📣 The jury made of over 30 international experts has spoken and selected 12 winning entries for the Sigma Awards 2022 competition!

These 12 projects represent the best data journalism worldwide from the past year. They were selected from 603 entries that were published in 2021.

Winners take home a US$500 cash prize and a certificate. Together with the rest of this year's entries, they compile the best data-driven projects of the past year, an invaluable contribution that helps monitor the evolution of the field.

86 organizations, in 28 countries across 6 regions were represented in this year's Sigma Awards Shortlist, which is a great illustration that data journalism is still thriving worldwide despite the challenges, as Simon Rogers, data editor at Google and managing director of the Sigmas puts it:

"I was incredibly impressed by the quality of work we saw this year. To be coming through a pandemic and seeing data journalism around the world play such a powerful global role is really inspiring. The Sigmas continues to be the global award for data journalism."
