Colompton Beer Club #190- New Year, New Beer

Happy New Year and welcome to 2025! This week on the podcast, we kick off the year with laughs, beers, and conversations. We welcome the dawn of Gen Beta and break down how the generations are separated. We reflect on the lies Gen X was told, share thoughts on the cultural impact of Squid Game, and encounter another Dante moment after he forgot to hit record upon returning from a break. Costing you 45 minutes of quality conversation. We also tackle the College Football Playoff, discussing SEC bias and the elimination of higher seeds, exploring the world of tattoos and art, and ranting about the chaos of panic shopping when snow is in the forecast.

We also reviewed two unique brews:

Hitachino Nest Red Rice Ale by Kiuchi Brewery

Old Speckled Hen by GreenKing/Morland Brewery

Reposted from A Maryland man, Thomas Campbell Bolling Von Goetz, was arrested after a bizarre series of disruptions during two Christmas Eve church services. According to the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, Von Goetz first entered Holy Angels Catholic Church during mass and dropped an onion in the aisle, causing a disturbance. As he exited, he allegedly assaulted someone by throwing tangerines.

Later that night, during midnight mass at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Von Goetz escalated his behavior by pouring whiskey into the holy water and threatening harm to parishioners. As attendees tried to remove him, he attempted to strike several people with a whiskey bottle.

Churchgoers detained him until law enforcement arrived. Von Goetz was taken to a hospital for evaluation before being arrested on multiple charges, including second-degree assault, defacing religious property, and threats of mass violence.
