It’s “Paper Angels” and it began when radio personality Jack O’Malley heard the song of the same name by Jimmy Wayne that recalled the singer’s memories of Christmas in foster care. This will be their 17th year working together to ensure the children in local foster care get their Christmas wishes fulfilled. 3 years ago today Country Radio lost this treasure of a man. He changed the world for so many entering into a country music career. I imagine most artists can recall the time they heard Bob Kingsley say their name for the first time on his Countdown program. He was a heck of a nice man, and without a doubt an icon in Country Music. You will always be missed and can never be replaced. Rest in Peace our dear friend.

Last week's #1 song! Think Pardi can do it again? The song was written by Dylan Marlowe, Joe Fox, and Jimi Bell. The three of them wrote the song in 2020. Marlowe provided the song's riff, at which point they came up with the title. From this they developed a "grocery list" of events in the lives of a couple who are drinking alcohol together and describe their impending romance as their "last night lonely". Fox thought the final product had a similar sound to a Tom Petty or Bruce Springsteen song.
