The police in Oslo, Norway, have confirmed that the United States embassy was the target earlier tonight of an explosive device, which detonated around 1:00 a.m. in front of the consular entrance of the diplomatic headquarters.

The explosion left minor injuries and damage to the facilities, according to a statement provided to NRK by the head of the Oslo Police, Michael Delmer.
