Calling all Citizens and Businesses. Your are being deployed to Southwest VA and Hazard Kentucky with Unit 78 and Boat 7 to assist with lifesaving efforts caused by the devastating floods. The communities hit the hardest are also in need of the following supplies: bottled water, paper towels, toilet paper, Lysol wipes and other cleaning supplies, baby diapers, baby wipes, pet food, and non-perishable items. Supplies and or donations can be dropped off at the South Hill Volunteer Fire Department today and tomorrow until 8:00 PM both days. Please make checks payable to the South Hill Volunteer Fire Department. We ask that you keep our first responders and the families affected in your thoughts and prayers as we will be headed into the heart of the devastation on Wednesday morning, August 3, 2022, at 9:00 AM. NOTICE OF STREET CLOSURES

On Wednesday, May 11, 2022, from about 8 AM until 5 PM, Pace Drive from the intersection of Forest Drive to Leonard Street will be closed to all traffic for maintenance work in the street right-of-way. The public is asked to use Leonard Street, Pettus Drive, and Stockley Street to access Forest Drive during the road closure.

Also, utility improvements are planned this Thursday or Friday (May 12 or 13) at the intersection of Ferrell Street and Lombardy Street. As delays are expected, travelers should avoid this area if possible.

The Town thanks you for your patience during these events.
