Sibelius Symphony n°5 excerpt from 1st movement
Applying Dr. @carmeloviolin 's Arpeggio Exercise to Sibelius Violin Concerto's Cadenza
Excerpt I'm studying for UNMSO audition for Spring 2024
I got sick last week and couldn't be at the Noon Recital with my students who were playing, so they sent me two letters (and a lot of food) wishing me to get better 😍
From last Thursdays concert 🤩
Our next concert is on November 9th where we'll play Dvorak's 9th Symphony!
I love how music can mean way more to us than itself.
I have a new roommate who is a bassist and I asked him to record me playing this because I have a very special memory of this.
My Godfather is a bass player and I remember sitting down in front of the bass when I was 3 or 4 yo and looking up at him, behind the huge instrument, playing this song to me.
He would always play this song to me and I absolutely adore it. I can't even explain how it makes me feel, but it is amazing to have this!
Bass players, please forgive my terrible technique 😆

Understanding positioning of the left hand according to Stanley Ritchie.
(Sorry about the background, I'm at work)
Trying to learn how to hold the violin as a baroque violin.
According to Stanley Ritchie, the violin has 3 points of support: the collarbone, the left thumb and THE BOW.
This blew up my mind! But it makes so much physics sense.
I am specially working on keeping left shoulder down and neck relaxed while understanding how to support the violin on the thumb.
