For the second time in less than a year, North Carolina is going to see major impacts from a Hurricane. Now is time to finalize your Hurricane plan and hunker down What we feared is going to become reality Hurricane Dorian is going to pass very closely or make landfall on the North Carolina coast Thursday, tracks have shifted just a little west. For now, the impacts have stayed the same I'll watch during the day today. A mandatory evacuation has been issued for every barrier island on the NC coast, now is the time to LEAVE. Final preparations should be ongoing as tropical-storm-force winds could begin as early as Wednesday evening. Dorian is still a very strong Category 2 Hurricane with winds of 110MPH, do not let the downgrade catch you off guard. Winds are going to expand as the storm spreads out, we will see power outages that's a guarantee; also expected to see Major Storm Surge. Below I'll explain everything. If you remain in a location exposed to Dorian's wrath you will be risking serious injury or even death. If you are in an evacuation area and have not taken action, please strongly consider complying and relocating to a safer area or shelter while you still can!
Hurricane and Storm Surge Warnings are now posted for the entire coastline. Tropical Storm Warning posted for areas east of Raleigh.
TRACK: The track has shifted just ever so slightly west. The models have been very consistent and tightly clustered on the track of the eye. The storm will travel just off the coast of NC or make landfall near Cape Fear or Cape Lookout. There's a very fine line of about 50 miles if the track shifts west or east impacts will change.
