A teaser from a podcast I had the pleasure of being a guest on discussing all things creative work & travel with my friend @b3thjohnson 🎥
This project has been so unexpected and at the same time such an amazing learning experience, we recorded this in December 2022 as the very first of a project that was only in conception at the time. To not only be the first guest on @nowdepartingordinary but to help launch this beautiful idea has been so rewarding.
I’ve gone on to do my part as a video editor to create this channel & want to say how grateful I am to work on this, to help friends ‘build cool stuff’ & to help people take their creative ideas & babies and turn them into a reality is the absolute best feeling.
It’s humbling, a little bit scary & confronting to not only watch yourself back on a podcast but to have to edit yourself is a unique experience but funnily enough not the first time I’ve been through this ha!
Thankyou Beth for crossing paths first of all and for trusting in me to go on this journey with you it has been so much fun, I’m inspired by you, your big ideas and even more so your belief & ability to execute your ideas has been such a great process to witness.
My big takeaway from all of this - So much in life we are trying to act perfect and project that to the world but we are all imperfect, if you wait to be perfect at something your ideas will sit on a shelf and get dusty.

These absolute legends provide life changing therapy for people with disabilities giving them the resources to be able to access the water & experience scuba diving without limitations.
After working for almost 10 years in the social sector quite a few of those in the disability field this perfectly aligned with my values & made getting involved with The Scuba Gym an absolute no brainer.

Two months ago Sam, Stacey & I sat down for a coffee in Bondi to discuss making a travel video about their life together to enter a competition to win a camper van build.
Multiple rounds of scripting ideas, fine tuning things together & coming up with an idea we did it all collaboratively & shot the video along with interviews & drone footage & I’m so stoked how it came out.
These guys made a huge decision 9 months ago to move out of their apartment, buy an old mechanics van & had the legends at @vanable turn it into their new home.
On Saturday we attended Vanable’s 2nd birthday bash & the winner was announced.
To a lot of excitement our video won & took out the prize snagging these two a brand new van build🥇
When I got into making videos one of my motivations was to have more flexibility & to shoot travel content. I wanted to combine my love for adventure, experiencing different cultures & meeting people and use video as a platform to tell those peoples stories. Those motivations are just as true today 5 years later.
Even though my business has morphed and changed a lot over the years working on this project took me all the way back & reminded me about why I started down this path in the first place.
So grateful to these two legends for the little journey we’ve been on together - Being so easy to work with & the level of detail with feedback & collaboration. So stoked to be involved it’s been such a blast telling your story & creating this with you guys regardless of the outcome I’ve absolutely loved it 🤍 @samandstaceyslowlyliving
