Evaluation:
Those victims who were able to be identified were identified through family verification, tattoo artist verification, and even DNA analysis. Could t have possibly been that some is covering it up and not saying anything ? I personally find it hard to think that the investigation for each victim was done thoroughly. There were no investigations on calls received by victims after they have stopped, only interviews and help from the community was keeping the ball rolling with the investigation process.
I also question if maybe their personal lives had gotten in the way of their investigation. Maybe they weren’t taken seriously enough and the fact that the possibilities for any victim could have been endless, investigators did put their all in finding the person responsible. The facts that one victim was found on different parts of ocean parkway but we found years after another raises questions. I mean, if you find one part of a body, it should have been crucial to find the other remains. They were in the same location, just a few miles apart. If think’s were taken seriously the remains could have been found weeks after finding the first pair instead of over 9 years.

Investigation Post:
This is one piece of evidence that was found during the investigation of the initial search. A belt was found and was released to the public to see if they could get any help identifying where the belt may be from or even what the letters mean. Investigators do believe that this could be a key part in the investigation being the suspect could have been the owner. (Lapin,2020) What makes finding he owner hard is there are n prints on the belt. No prints and no one coming forward about where it could have possibly come from only lead detectives to a dead end. Unfortunately, no one has come forward with any information regarding the belt till this day.

Investigation post:
"Peaches" also known as a Jane Doe in the Gilgo Beach killings case investigation. Apart from the victims that have already been posted on this page, there was one victim that was spoken about very briefly. Baby Doe. DNA analysis matched with Peaches and she was found to be the mother of the baby doe. They were found a few miles apart. Investigators were able to also make the connection between the two based off similar jewelry found on both of them. Investigators believe they may have been killed at the same time. Unfortunately, there are no updated leads in their investigation.

Investigation Post:
There were several people that could have been possible suspects. Each victim brought upon someone new. however, John Bittrolf became a suspect due to another murder of two women. DNA evidence collected from his brother match with his.
Though these women were not officially linked to the Gilgo Beach killings, their case was still very much similar. Investigators thought that being these women had the same back ground as the other victims, and was killed the same way as the other victims they had a hit. He was only linked to those two victims Rita Tangredi and Colleen McNamee because the DNA evidence that was collected was found at the crime scene, and on both victims but not found on any of the official Gilgo Beach victims.

Jessica Taylor 20, went missing in mid-July, 2003. On July 26, 2003, he torso was found. There were no other parts of her remains found at the time but she did have a tattoo. Investigators were able to release a picture that way artist in her area would be able to notice it and identify who the person was. Thankfully someone did come forward and they were able to correctly identify the victim as Jessica Taylor. Jessicas case is a little different. She was not found whole, she was found in pieces and placed in different locations. It took 9 years to unidentify her as a Jane Doe.

Jane doe also known as (peaches) estimated age 16-30years old, her torso was found on June 28, 1997. The victim was found in a green plastic container dumped next to a road. Both arms, head, and legs below the knee were severed and were not found at the scene. The victim had a tattoo of a heart-shaped peach with a bite out of it on her left breast. She was given the name "Peaches." Police estimate she had died less than three days before being discovered. In April 11, 2011, police discovered human remains inside a plastic bag. DNA testing came back a match for both legs and the remains found in 1997. This victim is currently still unidentified. However, her tattoo is what made her stand out when attempting to find who she is. Her picture was showed in the paper in order to find the artist.

Victims Post:
Melissa Barthelemy "Last seen on July 12, 2009, outside her apartment on Underhill Avenue in the Bronx. Sometime that day, a bank security camera recorded her by depositing $1,000. Her boyfriend/pimp, John "Blaze" Terry, said Melissa had arranged for another $1,000 date the next night somewhere on Long Island. Melissa's body was discovered on December 11, 2010, beside Ocean Parkway near Gilgo Beach. She had been strangled.” (Victim information 2013)

(Pignataro, 2011) After s while the calls did stop, but they still were not able to find out if the person calling was Melissas killer. The police did no further investigation.

Victim Post:
"Maureen Brainard-Barnes (25), Maureen's body was found on December 13, 2010, beside Ocean Parkway near Gilgo Beach. Maureen was found very close to three other victims: Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman, and Amber Lynn Costello. Collectively, these women are referred to as the "Gilgo Beach 4."(Victim information 2013) This later turned into a big mystery in finding out who is in charged of the crimes.

Maureens Investigation:
Maureen Barnes, Amber, Lynn, and Megan Watermen were the first four victims to be found in the initial search for a women named Shannon Gilbert who had also went missing. When examiners did an autopsy on the victim it was fund that she had been strangled as well as the other three victims that were found around her body. Investigators started to take note to the actions that were happening that lead up to her disappearance, and the events after. Before her disappearance, Maureen had left her home in Norwich, to meet a client she had through craigslist. Her last known location was at a hotel in Midtown Manhattan. "Last seen on July 9, 2007, in her room at the Super 8 Hotel in midtown Manhattan. She was robbed by someone outside of the hotel and decided to return home to Connecticut. Her last known phone call was to her sister, Missy, from Penn Station. She was reported missing on July 14, 2007." (Victim information 2013) Being she was not origionally from Midtown Manhattan, sh was only there to visit someone, maybe detectives could have taken a look at who she had wen to meet the day she went missing. After he disappearance, one of her friends got a call from the victims phone. "Shortly after her disappearance, a friend of Maureen's received a call from a man on an unfamiliar number. The man claimed that he had just seen Maureen and that she was staying at a "w***ehouse in Queens." He refused to identify himself and could not tell her the location of the house."(Victim information 2013) Still there has been no connection to the call, no identification of who the male was that made the call, and no location to where the man said Maureen was staying. When investigators pinged the victims phone, they were unsuccessful.
Till this day no one was charged for her death.
