It’s official!! We are so incredibly honored that has named PRIDE & PRESTON LIN as one of their top 100 fiction books of 2024. This comes on the heels of naming PPL as one of the top ten romance books of 2024.

At last, a cover reveal for FIGHTING TO BELONG, VOL. II by and , illustrated by . We know many of you have been waiting patiently for the second installment of our beloved graphic novel series teaching AANHPI history to middle grade readers.

This second volume follows our middle school protagonists and their guide, Kenji, through key moments in the first two thirds of the twentieth century, from 1900 through the civil rights era. The narrative takes a turn toward significant acts of heroism and advancement among AANHPIs in America, such as the 442nd regiment during World War 2.

Happy end of summer! ☀️ We’ve been taking some much-needed time to catch up after a whirlwind Spring season. Coming at you now to announce our one and only picture book for 2025, a heartwarming tale called TIC-TAC-TOE CHICKEN by , illustrated by who grew up in NYC Chinatown, where the story is set. Lillie was a real chicken, the last in a series of chickens that lived in the Chinatown Fair video arcade on Mott Street and was trained to play tic-tac-toe against customers. The story follows Lillie’s adventures, as well as the brave girl who is determined to win Lillie’s freedom.

TIC-TAC-TOE CHICKEN will release in April 2025. Cant wait to share it with you!

We’ll be celebrating with events at the Barnes & Noble Menlo Park TOMORROW 6/18 and this coming Friday, June 21, at the Edison Library North Branch, complete with delicious food and a dance performance by Third State’s very own editorial intern, !

You would never believe this but at some point in the past few months our googled the name “Preston Lin” and found one, a real-life student at George Washington University by the same name, and get this—he swims competitively for the university! Of course we had to get in touch with .lin7 and explain that the book we just published was, in fact, a total coincidence. He was gracious about the whole thing and requested a signed copy from . And we were over the moon when he took this photo commemorating his literary namesake! 💕🥰 thanks for being such a good sport .lin7! 🏊🏼‍♂️🏊🏼‍♂️🏊🏼‍♂️
