ADVISORY

28 April 2024 - In view of the latest heat index forecast of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) and the announcement of a nationwide transport strike, all public schools nationwide shall implement ASYNCHRONOUS CLASSES/DISTANCE LEARNING on April 29 and 30, 2024.

Likewise, teaching and non-teaching personnel in all public schools shall not be required to report to their respective stations.

However, activities organized by Regional and Schools Division Offices, such as Regional Athletic Association Meets and other division or school level programs, to be conducted on the aforementioned dates may push through as scheduled, provided that measures for the safety of all participants have been carefully considered.

Finally, private schools shall not be covered by this advisory but shall have the option to implement the same.

MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR No. 006-2024

Upon the recommendation of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) and in view of the forecasted extreme heat that might be experienced in the next 2 days, IN-PERSON CLASSES in ALL LEVELS in both public and private schools are hereby SUSPENDED tomorrow, Thursday, 25 April 2024 until Friday, 26 April 2024.

Further, you are hereby directed to shift to ASYNCHRONOUS CLASSES/ACTIVITIES.

This circular shall take effect immediately.

MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR No. 005-2024

Upon the recommendation of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) and in view of the forecasted extreme heat that might be experienced tomorrow, IN-PERSON CLASSES from KINDERGARTEN up to GRADE 12 in public schools are hereby SUSPENDED tomorrow, Wednesday, 24 April 2024.

Further, the same public schools are hereby directed to shift to ASYNCRONOUS CLASSES/ACTIVITIES.

The suspension of classes in private schools is left to the discretion of their respective managements.

This circular shall take effect immediately.

Due to the high volume of participants expected to join the celebration of National Women's Month 2024, the venue has been relocated from Bacoor Elementary School Oval Track in Barangay Alima to a larger space for everyone's safety. The new venue will be in Villar City, located on Daang Hari Road, Molino, Bacoor City.

Please be advised that heavy traffic is anticipated along Daang Hari Road and Villar Avenue from 12NN to 11PM tomorrow, March 9, 2024.

We kindly ask for your understanding and cooperation regarding these changes. Your cooperation is highly appreciated.

MEMORIAL OF ST. JULIANA OF NICOMEDIA, MARTYR

St. Juliana of Nicomedia (c. 270 A.D.), also known as St. Juliana of Cumae, was the daughter of noble pagan parents, born in Nicomedia, a Greek city in ancient Turkey. Although her father was hostile to Christians, Juliana secretly accepted baptism. Her father arranged her marriage to a pagan nobleman and Roman senator. When the time for her wedding came, Juliana refused her consent to be married unless her betrothed converted to the Christian faith. Her father retaliated by mercilessly abusing her, but Juliana would not give in. Her betrothed then denounced her as a Christian before the tribunal under the persecutions of the Roman Emperor Diocletian. St. Juliana was unwavering in her faith, even after the devil himself appeared to tempt her during her sufferings. She was then publicly tortured by being burned, boiled in oil, and finally beheaded. Some accounts say she died together with St. Barbara. Many were converted to the Christian faith upon witnessing her fortitude in the face of her tortures. St. Juliana is the patron saint of sickness and bodily ills. Her feast day is February 16th. (Evening Offering)

BREAKING: Malacañang declares January 9, 2024 as a special non-working day in the City of Manila in celebration of the Feast of the Black Nazarene.

The holiday is announced through Proclamation No. 434 released by the Office of the President on Thursday, January 4, through Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.
