February is the month of love and the topic of love has been heavy on my mind lately-

Love truly comes in so many shapes and sizes, and it is a blessing to be able to capture it in all its forms- from couples to parents with the children or an enterpenuer sharing their love for their business.

So, in the theme, I wanted to share 5 things I LOVE:

1. Photography and videography are obviously two passions that I love to do- but I love anything activity that allows me to be creative, so I often am completely random home DIYs and improving my HGTV interior design skills.
2. Traveling is my one true love and what drives me everyday- counting down til I catch my next flight. While there are still many places I want to cross off my bucket list, some of my all time favorites have been New Orleans, Cancun, and any trip to Florida!
3. I am an animal lover- my catchphrase is that I have never meet a four legged creature that I didn’t get along with (notice that excludes snakes and spiders)
4. While I try to live an active lifestyle, I’d be lying if I didn’t admit to loving to lay on the couch all day, curled up with my dog, and binge watching Netflix series. My go-to’s are heist movies, murder mystery documentaries, and stand up comedy specials
5. My newest love interest has been learning how to cope with my ADHD and be a business owner, by improving my mental health through therapy, exercise, and a plethora of self helps books (currently reading The One Thing by Gary Kelly- highly recommend)

I haven't introduced myself on here for a while so I thought I'd do that again. A big warm hello to all of you

My name is Heather and I'm the crystal loving, tree hugging woman behind Spikes Studios.

When I was 15, I fell in love with photography after learning to develop & print film. Then, in 2020, I decided to go for it full-time and Spikes Studios was born.

I spend most of my days creating content and endless amounts of editing- and love every minute of it. For me, what I do is so much more than just a job, it's something I picture myself doing for the rest of my life because it gives this sense of being able to suspend reality and slip into curated, fantastical moments, and I honestly couldn't imagine doing anything else.

I'm also a videographer and avid traveler, and totally obsessed murder mystery shows, TJMaxx, and cuddling with my dog, Luna, in my free time.

Spikes Studios is looking forward to getting back outdoors to photograph your family with a beautiful nature backdrop.
This shoot with their large family was so much fun, as I felt a part of the family immediately. I love making those connections with my clients, but my favorite part of this shoot was these mini individuals we stopped to take as we made our way out of the park. Their love for each other and fun personalities really shine through in these photos... especially Mom and Dad.
