He totally embodied “Delly” and played well off the other actors. It’s definitely going to be odd hearing your voice knowing you’re no longer on this plane. This post is not meant to bash fathers who do their duty. There is another experience that is not spoken about often enough which inspired the post. It is not meant to elicit pity but to acknowledge and praise the womb-men who do it all on their own. It is ALL part of the human experience.

I loved this woman. We ICHS girls called her Mona. She was THE school principal who I measured every other principal by. She was soft spoken but loud in her principles.
I saw her many years after leaving high school in Tropical Plaza, HWT and ran towards her, skipping and saying her name and hugged her ... for so long. I didn’t realise she was so much shorter than I was, as in high school she seemed like a giant. She called out my full government name. She never forgot our names.
The thing with Sister Maureen Sister Maureen Clare Hall, O.S.F. is that she never argued. She stated her claim - you either accepted it or didn’t. If you didn’t, then you’d have to live with the consequences. I remember in 11th grade, I refused to read Silas Marner. I opened the book, saw something about a “spinning wheel” and closed it. Maybe in a previous life I died by spindle. 🤷🏾‍♀️ My literature teacher at the time (who was also an Immaculate girl) reported me to Mona. My parents were called in. Mona was the sweetest, most respectful person to my mother. I was in shock! Confused even caw who kidnap Mona and had this clone in her place? This was not the Mona I knew. I accepted my fate but ... smiling. Weird. I was suspended for 3 days. I still had to go to school fully dressed in my uniform and sit by the stairs on the 9th grade block close to her office. She would pass me everyday and say, “good morning Ms Tabois” 😂

I am truly, truly saddened by the passing of this formidable woman. I crazily thought she would live forever. 🕊

Huacrapona palm tree 🌴 is a large, evergreen palm forming a loose clump of growth from a prostrate or subterranean stem up to 45cm in diameter.

This palm extends from Nicaragua to Panama, and in other places in South Americaas Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela, Brazil and some placed in Africa.

Note: not all Palm trees are ‘Trees,’ and Not All Plants Called Palms are truly Palms, therefore we say Huacrapona palm tree is original palm tree.

Jamaican culture, African culture is alive and well. Our master drummers (Calvin Mitchell, Philip Supersad et al) are passing on the traditions to the younger generation and they love it! Even though the occasion was to mourn the passing of Alvin Mitchell, backstage crewman and stage manager for numerous pantomimes over 30 years, there was joy, dancing, celebration, heartfelt expression and community. #sundaychurch #happysunday #jamaica #bigwomantings
