Received this awesome gift recently! Definitely good motivation to keep working on my prototype.

Play testing is still going great and all the mechanics seem to be working as they should - let's see what the next 90 tests bring to light!

Made a lot of progress during our playtest session last night and learnt a lot from the 2 games played! One of the things I was worried about, stagnant movement at the beginning, seems to be ironed out. I've also started renaming some of the mechanics to fit the theme better.

Many moments of hilarity ensued and both games came down to the wire! (Glad I finally won again, wasn't enjoying being beaten at my own game 😉)

All in all great progress and many steps in the right direction.

Do YOU have any questions about the game?

Wandering Games has taken off and I'm proud to be developing our first board game! Fans of archaeology, history, and board games in general should follow to see what we have in store with this upcoming project...

Our aim is to create visually dynamic board games with great replayability and a focus on broadening cultural knowledge, all whilst being sustainable and fun.

Our first project, dubbed WG1, has an archaeological theme inspired by my own time spent at various archaeological sites. It has a great blend of risk-taking, discovery, and sabotage that has resulted in many game-testers howling either in victory or woe as plans are thwarted or treasures unveiled!

If you want to keep in the loop and follow the game & company's growth, please do consider Liking and Following the Page. Who knows, there may even be some givaways around the corner...

I'm always looking to work alongside inspiring creators, so if you're a game designer, illustrator or content creator feel free to get in contact about anything and everything.

Thanks everyone!

Had great fun playtesting WG1 (a working title) last night. Brought up a new scenario I hadn't encountered before, so going to have a look at the rules to see its likelihood of happenning again and if anything needs to be fixed.

Currently working on the printed prototype, so hopefully that will be ready to show off soon! Quite proud of my 'rough' prototype, and it's gone through many iterations. Feel like the game is now ready to be put in front of a wider audience!

It’s not often I come across a concept that makes me want to know more quite as much as this one. So when Jack reached out to me to tell me more about this incredible project and the intricacies hidden within, I found myself instantly hooked on it! As a board gamer and an aspiring publisher, I love eye catching illustrations and original play ideas – all of which Sensu brings.

Designed completely from scratch, in the Japan-themed art playing cards Sensu, Jack has created a unique way to marry narrative-driven artwork and the medium of playing cards. Themed on the Japanese seasons, hearts are Spring and filled with cherry blossoms, clubs are Summer and inspired by the Great Wave, diamonds are Autumn in momiji and spades are Winter with the snowy top of Mount Fuji. When they fan together – opened in a run, they reveal the seasons in all their glory!

As well as looking beautiful, the way these cards are designed also transfers to how they are used. Japanese hanafuda have no indices or markings, so hands are remembered and calculated by players so that the stories and connections live within the players’ minds. Here there are still indices and so no need for memory, but once you learn to recognize them and match them quickly you will have a truly unique playing experience.

Jack says he has many concepts for these playing cards, including creating a unique new game suited perfectly to this creative new design. All I can say is – I’m a big fan! I can’t wait to get mine through the post to add to my board game collection.

The project also admirably goes out of its way to promote sustainability and support animal welfare, something that is becoming increasingly important in today’s world.
