Oftentimes we blame the "gatekeepers" in our industry for our lack of breakthroughs or things that are not going our way. When in reality what is happening - we are usually the ones holding ourselves back. 😅
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
➡️ I can personally list off times where I gave up, held myself back, or didn't think it would be worth my time to do something knowing I would fail.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Let's get out there creatives and start going for things! Sometimes we blame others when in reality, it's ourselves. So go and try - failure is not something to fear and you'll always learn something from the process

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I have quite a few episodes on the back burner’s right now. Thank you everyone for your patience as this podcasting thing is new to me and I’m learning so much. I LOVE it and having conversations with other musicians in the industry!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
New exciting things coming up:

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
☑️ I’m going to be sharing some things I’m working on to help musicians with freelancing, and business building! I LOVE coming up with systems/organization - it’s been my favorite thing about podcasting. So stay tuned if you want to learn more!

I'm so excited to share this interview with all of you! Patricia Price brings so much knowledge about working in public relations for musicians. This episode alone deserves a 5-star rating for the amount of knowledge she dropped about pitching. 🙌🏼🔥
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
8VA has worked with some of the greatest artists in the classical music industry. It really was an honor to get to interview her and learn more about the behind-the-scenes.

Ken is definitely one of the most dedicated content creators that I know! He created videos consistently on his channel JHMJams for about 5 years straight posting consistently every Tuesday and Friday until he hit 500 uploads. I seriously don't think I know any other content creators that have done that.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
His channel JHM jams are known for performing tunes by ear . During covid caused a different way for putting the pieces together that we talk about in the episode.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In this episode, Ken also drops his knowledge about creating content and bringing value to your audience. I learned so much from interviewing him and admire his content creation so much! Thank you Ken for being on the show!!

New cover art!! Thank you everyone who voted on the poll 🙌🏼 I appreciate you all as I was having some decision paralysis on choosing. So happy with this design & how it came out!

Yep I do all of my designs in house! I’ve been working on my new website (will be launching in the next couple of weeks so keep your eyes peeled 👀 I’m pretty excited for it because B4 the stage integrates really well into it!) Shoutout to wix for helping me design a nice website!

I’m also launching the website with new offers I’ve been working on. Social Media strategy sessions, content designing, management, and also violin related offers as well! Keep your eyes peeled for that. 🤗

Have you ever designed a website? If so - what was your experience?

Have you caught the latest episode from ? I interviewed Sarah Kenner from the Hungry Musician's blog. We had a conversation about her love for cooking and creating healthy meals. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

If you know me, it's not a big secret I love food a lot so this was an especially fun episode for me to record! Sarah also introduced me to one of my favorite recipes in one of her cooking classes. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled on her blog (get on her email list!) to get in a cooking class. She has delicious recipes. Trust me!!!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Has anybody listened to the episode yet? If so what did you think? 🎙

If not, what does this quote make you think about? Oftentimes when we care about something so much it scares us to take action! This quote for instance was about when John Zion first started working at a management company and emailing great artists.

I was relating to that about me reaching out to many great musicians, business owners I admire for this podcast! I care so much about this project - but I could have easily let the fear hold me back!

And here we are!! So don’t let that fear hold you back!! 😊

What is something recently that put you out of your comfort zone and how did you move forward?

What is it like working with a manager? 🤔

https://bit.ly/39KFYDy to listen to the interview I did with John Zion of MKI Artists. 🔈

He was generous to share about working with artists as their manager. His story of going into management. I learned so much in this interview and got to understand the process of working with a management team as an artist. I hope you learn a lot from this interview as well!

Here’s a little bit about John Zion:
John Zion has served as the Managing Director of MKI Artists since taking ownership of the firm in 2015. He oversees strategic planning and operations and directs the careers of a prestigious roster of international artists. He serves on the board of Chamber Music America and has presented on arts-related issues at the Manhattan School of Music, the University at Buffalo, APAP|NYC, Chamber Music America’s National Conference, and the Avaloch Farm Music Institute.

In 2012, he was named one of the “Rising Stars in the Performing Arts” by Musical America. John studied at Lawrence University and the Hartt School of Music; before coming to MKI Artists, he performed regularly as a violinist with orchestras throughout New England, taught public-school music, and toured Vietnam with his string quartet. In his free time, John enjoys cooking, reading, and traveling.
