We avoid loss. We all do. We don't want to be left out, picked last, not promoted or told no. We instead want gain. To be picked first, get the big raise, told our kids were picked for something elite. We want gain.
When Jesus talked about gaining life by loosing. It didn't make sense... but I challenge you to look at surrender different. Try taking a loss my friends. You just might experience the reversal Jesus was talking about.
