Christmas this year is going to look a lot different to what we are used to, with not being able to spend time with families for some or having to spend limited time together. All in all it’s a bit of a s**t show. So this year be easy on yourself, have some treats and enjoy what you can of Christmas and remember that lockdown (for those in it) will ease soon and we have a vaccine so things will only go up 💕

Intuitive eating is sometimes mistaken as only eating when hungry and stopping when full when in reality intuitive eating is about knowing our body and its needs and that also means being okay with going past comfortable fullness! It’s being aware of our bodies and choosing to reach that point! Plus who could say no to the after dinner chocolates?

With the new year brings the classic New Years weight loss posts, well let me tell you now... YOU DONT HAVE TO LOSE WEIGHT!
Most of these thiguhts of feelings when it comes to wanting to lose weight is due to fatphobia and diet-culture causing us to hate our bodies more and making us feel like the only way for us to accept ourselves and to be happy and confident is by losing weight.
This new year let’s focus on how we feel and forget about weight loss for good!

You don’t need to exercise to burn off food full stop!
Exercise is soooo much more then you think! We should exercise because we love our bodies, because it makes us feel good!
For the benefits that aren’t related to physical body changes! For all the good it does when it comes to increasing our endorphins and making us feel like powerful bad bi***es!
So exercise if it feels good to you and by doing the movements that you enjoy! Be it going for a walk, run or a dance party at home! But remember that it’s okay to not want to do any exercise too this christmas!

I always say to people food is just that, food! Why do we punish ourselves for soemthing that we have to eat to keep ourselves alive? Why should we punish ourselves for eating soemthing we enjoy?
Diet culture makes us believe that we have to eat certain foods to be healthy bht remember my friends that we use food for a majority of reasons, socially, emotionally and to keep us going throughout the day

HELP! PEOPLE ARE COMMENTING ON MY BODY!
In any situation people talking about anyone’s body in general is stressful, so what can we do to help navigate these conversations to something less triggering?
1- change the conversation; either politely (or not so depending on your mood) change the conversation to something that’s unrelated and keep doing so if they keep bringing up the topic
2- Boundaries; this one can be scary to do but telling people to stop commenting on your body/talking about it can be a massive step and if they can’t respect that, bye bye honey we don’t need that in our life!
3- Affirmations; saying to ourselves affirmations everyday that are unrelated to our body will help to see our worth unrelated to our body! Simple things such as “I am a smart and caring person”
The main thing is keeping our boundaries in check, telling people to stop and being forceful if needed becuase what matters is that our friends and family respect our wishes. And reminding ourself regularly that there is more to us than our bodies 💕

Christmas and any holiday season is looked at to be this massive feast where you can stuff yourselves full of food because it’s the holidays and food doesn’t count then - while yes you can totally do that if you want, the holiday season is just like any other day!
We are told to wait till the holiday season to have a “blow out” and then start back dieting after the season has finished, we say screw that! You can eat what you want when you want it!
