Bhimakunda Waterfall has a stunning spectacular natural environment encircled with lush green forest. The majestic Baitarani river provides two most beautiful and scary waterfalls called Sanakunda & Badakunda to the natural lovers. The waterfall has a terrific characteristic of imparting awesome experience to the visitors due to large vertical shaped gorge & speeding current and makes the environment smokey. Further huge roaring sound of waterfall makes the place most interesting among tourists. This waterfalls is considered as a most sacred place in religious point of view. Local people gather here during annual celebration of Makar Sankranti in large numbers. Mythology is that Pandavas were staying some time here during their religious expedition

👉DETAILS: The most striking feature of the Maa Balakumari temple is that it's situated on the top of the picturesque Kerandimala hill, driving up to which is a pleasurable experience. There is a mix of ghat road driving and a final set of stairs (1272 steps) to reach the temple. May not be preferable for aged persons. Another important feature is a large rock painted as a Shivling, which can be viewed from the top.

It is one of the major tourist attractions in Ganjam and was built by the royal family of Chikiti. It's a holy place of many devotees including those from Telengana and Andhrapadesh and sees crowds throughout the year. The Maa Balakumari deity is considered to a form of Ma Durga. Makar Sankranti is a major festival here.

The temple is located at about 33 kms from the major south-odisha city of and about 210 kms from the state capital . The beautiful temple, surrounded by large rocks and boulders, full of several idols is also a picnic spot, with facility for water and other amenities.

Kanjipani Ghati is a picturesque natural panoramic spot with magnificent up rolling mountain ranges. Trail of Kanjipani Ghati spread over 20 km long along NH-49 which offers unique experience to the natural lovers above 610 meter high ghat. The place is the treasure house of rich flora & fauna. The winter temperature goes to -‘0’ degree Celsius while clouds touches the valley during the rainy season to the delight of tourists. Nature’s this area is treasure trove of varied flora and fauna along with huge wildlife reserves. Driving smoothly on a circuitous route while overlooking the plateaus and tribal huts in the valley is uncommon beauty. It is just 30 km away from Keonjhar town.

Sri Nrusinghanatha, is a temple of Odisha, situated at the foothills of Gandhamardhan hills near Paikmal, Bargarh. The King of Patna, Baijal Deva laid the foundation of this historic temple in early 15th century CE. It is only 45 feet in height, divided into two parts: the first being the seat of the Lord Nrusinghnath, the second allotted to Jagamohan (antechamber having 3 gates and each supported by 4 pillars.

Here you can also visit Chal dhar (400 m from Temple), Bhim Dhar (425 m from Temple), Sita K***a (500 m from Temple), Panchupandav (1.5 km from Temple), Kapil Dhar (4 km from Temple), Supta Dhar (7 km from Temple), Satyaamb (9 km from Temple), Bhim Madua (11 km from Temple), Happy Point (12 km from Temple).

Lord of universe - jagannath swami as nilamadhab,the reason behind the world famous cart festival

Sri Nilamadhava Temple(Odia: ନୀଳମାଧବଜିଉ ମନ୍ଦିର, କଣ୍ଟିଲୋ) is very old and famous Vishnu temple which is near to the bank of Mahanadi, in Kantilo. which is present near to the twin hills with a surrounding forest. A permanent flow of holy water from the feet of Lord Nilamadhava is another attraction of the spot. Lord Siddheswar is also present which is another highlight of the place.
History : It all initiated in a small cave in the Brahmadri hills situated on the banks of Mahanadi, which is known as Kantilo of Nayagarh district today. Here, Biswabasu the local Sabara Chief worshipped Kitung, as the God was known in the Sabara dialect. According to the Puranas, the deity was originally worshipped in the form of an Indranila gem image known as “Nilamadhava". The daru murty came much later.Located near the confluence of three rivers Mahanadi, Kuanria and Kusumi. The temple structure is like the Jagannath temple of Puri. It stands on the right bank of Mahanadi. It is called triveni sangam of Odisha. As there is Beni-Madhava in Prayag, so as here Nilamadhava

The wildlife range in Balasore is a great place to witness nature and some wildlife too. Located only about 20 kms from the town, the forest is part of the Nilgiri range and is famous for indian bisons, the great malabar squirrel and even elephants. The Rissia lake inside offers a spectacular view of the surroundings and of course the red lily it's so famous for.

Stay options include Forest department tents at Rissia nature camp and a Forest Rest House (FRH). Permission required for day visit, from the Nilgiri range office. If you have booked a night stay at www.ecotourodisha.com, the booking slip should be good enough for entry.

Balasore, a major north Odisha town is only 3hrs drive from state capital that has an airport. You can stay at some decent hotels in Balasore if you don't wish to stay in the jungle.

Nearby places include Panchalingeshwar Shiva Shrine, Nilagiri King's palace, Emami Jagannath temple and the historic Remuna Khirachora Gopinath Temple.
