Yesterday was a highlight in my fishing career. We jumped aboard the 41’ Lindell in Craig, Alaska with my good friends Mike and Heather Douville and the crew from Lindell to fish for halibut with traditional native hooks. They are called Naxw in Tlingit and few people get the opportunity to fish them, let alone with a guy with as much local fishing knowledge as Mike.

They let me pull the second set and I immediately felt the “thump thump” of a good fish on the line. I eased this 97 pound halibut up to the boat on the hand line and Mike and Heather took over from there.

You’ll see more about this on here soon. For now though I just want to THANK YOU to Heather and Mike for taking the time to share this with us yesterday. What an honor!

I can’t stop dreaming about this 41 footer from . There’s no shortage of storage space on this beast for a long voyage to BC or Alaska. An RSW system could even be an option in one of the massive compartments on this boat. What an incredible setup for fishing or cruising!

Here’s a little something we’ve done to try to reduce the amount of single use plastics that we discard on a daily basis. Each guest picks their @yeti water bottle color when they board the boat and that’s their water bottle for the duration of their fishing trip. We fill them throughout the day with the one gallon Yeti water jug and all of them are refilled every evening. At the end of their 3-day trip the bottles are washed and they are ready to go for the next group.
