Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile Reportedly Releasing This Year

A new report has claimed that a mobile iteration of Call of Duty: Warzone is currently in the works and should release at some point this year. In recent years, Activision has been expanding the Call of Duty IP in a number of different ways outside of the annualized new installments in the series. Two of the most prominent spin-off entries have been that of Warzone and Call of Duty: Mobile, both of which have been incredibly successful in their own ways. Now, it seems as though Activision is looking to combine both titles in a new manner in the near future.

According to Tom Henderson, who is an often-reliable insider when it comes to the Call of Duty series, Activision is currently working on Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile at this point in time. Henderson didn't have many details to share about this project right now, but he did say that it's the fourth Call of Duty game that is currently scheduled to be released before the end of 2023. The other installments that are being developed include Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Warzone 2, the untitled Call of Duty 2023 game, and then Warzone Mobile.

On paper, this move makes a ton of sense on Activision's behalf given the aforementioned success of both Warzone and Call of Duty: Mobile. Not to mention, battle royale games have started to become far more common on mobile devices in recent years, which means that bringing Warzone to mobile platforms wouldn't even be that difficult. Although the Warzone experience on mobile devices would surely be different when compared to the console and PC version, Activision will likely find a way to keep the core experience intact in some manner.

Blizzard had a rough time the last time it announced a mobile game. Back in 2018 at BlizzCon, the announcement of Diablo Immortal was met with an incredibly negative response from fans. It seems they’ve learned their lesson though, as the news that there’s an upcoming Warcraft mobile game came quietly, via their latest financial report.

We don’t know all that much about this Warcraft mobile game, other than that they’re working on it, planning to get “all-new mobile Warcraft content into players’ hands for the first time.” This comes alongside the news that they’re “planning substantial new content for the Warcraft franchise in 2022, including new experiences in World of Warcraft and Hearthstone”.

So, all there is to say is that they’re working on stuff. That’s good to hear, and I’m sure any Warcraft fan will be itching to get their hands on the new stuff. We actually argued that WoW Classic is a perfect fit for mobile a while back, but I doubt that is what Blizzard is bringing to the table.

First announced last September, HIT 2 is a sequel to the original mobile action RPG, HIT (Heroes of Incredible Tales) published by Nexon and developed by subsidiary NAT Games. A full-fledge MMORPG for both mobile and PC devices now, the first images (1 artwork and 1 screenshot) for HIT 2 were revealed earlier today.
Helming the development of HIT 2 is XH Studio, a team under NAT Games which is made up of mostly original employees who worked on the original HIT. One of the main features touted for HIT 2 are the massive PVP battles, with an aim of a Korean launch within 2022. Nexon is set to launch the global server as well, so stay tuned!

Note: NAT Games and Nexon GT will merge to form Nexon Games pending government approval.

Horizon Blockchain Games has launched an open beta for its free-to-play cross-platform Web3 trading card game, Skyweaver, and is available to download on the App Store and Google Play.

In Skyweaver, players can compete to win NFT trading cards in either weekly ranked leaderboards or a competitive conquest game mode.

The development of Skyweaver has been ongoing for the past four years and has included multiple closed beta tests for the past three years. During its closed beta tests, users have racked up over 883,000 hours.

The game first soft launched on November 25 2021 and generated $1.8 million in player spending. According to Horizon Blockchain Games, Skyweaver has accumulated 233,000 app downloads ahead of it becoming publicly available.

Highly anticipated

Korean gaming giant Netmarble held its annual “Netmarble Together with Press” or “NTP” event yesterday in South Korea, and as usual tons of Pay-To-Earn, blockchain, metaverse and whatnot news were mentioned. But we will just focus on the new “real” games announced, this time with Arthdal Chronicles. This game is based on the same-name Korean fantasy TV series which aired in 2019 for 18 episodes. It is also a collaboration with Studio Dragon, which previously produced Netflix shows such as Sweet Home and Kingdom: Ashin of the North.
The MMORPG, Arthdal Chronicles, is also in development for the upcoming Season 2 of the TV series. Both companies are aiming to make Arthdal Chronicles into a global IP as part of the overall strategy. There are three main features of the Arthdal ​​Chronicles game. The first is the expansion of the worldview. Netmarble is expanding the worldview by adding the settings of various regions and tribes not seen in Season 1 of the TV series through collaboration with the show writers.

After the bombastic showcase session held 2 weeks ago, NCsoft recently touched upon something much lighter in the form of the world regions. There will be both familiar places and new ones to explore, but the ones confirmed via the trailers include Talking Island, Gludio, Elven Forest, and Windawood. If you did not already know, UNDECEMBER is set to launch in South Korea first in January 2022, with a global one coming later in the year (pre-registration is now live). Publisher LINE Games and developer Needs Games announced today a slew of changes coming to the action Hack and Slash RPG after obtaining feedback from the Closed Beta community. Here is a brief look at the changes!
• Auction house fee lowered from 30% to 15%

• Improved player experience with one of the core growth mechanics, Runes, including convenience of usage and lowering fatigue
