You may be wondering, what's the deal with our pod name? Two words: Johnny Warren (MBE OAM) ⚽️🏃‍♂️

Chances are if you live in Australia and you love your football, you probably already know a bit about Johnny and his legacy. For those unfamiliar, we highly recommend you watch this documentary produced by SBS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bs1lNI0vsvM

In a nutshell, Johnny was a passionate advocate for the round ball in this country and was a key Socceroo in the team that earned Australia's first World Cup appearance back in 1974. He campaigned, commentated and criticised those who stood in his way to raise Australia's footballing profile, until sadly passing away from cancer in November 2004.

When asked about the legacy he'd like to leave, he simply stated those now famous words "I told you so", which quickly became synonymous with Australian football and were a fitting catchcry during the Socceroos' successful return to the world stage in 2006.

"We Told You So" is simply a nod to Johnny and his work to promote football in Australia, with his legacy actively continuing through the work of the Johnny Warren Football Foundation. Football is our passion and we want to keep spreading the round ball love through our podcast 🎧✌️
