Identifying land in sumbal for such important project instead of Bandipora is another set back for Bandipora which is being ignored when it comes to important projects..

Chairman of Block Development Council Hajin Appeals for Urgent Relief to Farmers Affected by Devastating Hailstorm in Tehsil Ajas, Bandipora

Bandipora, 27 July: In the aftermath of a severe hailstorm that struck Tehsil Ajas and adjoining areas in Bandipora district, farmers are reeling from the extensive damage caused to their apple orchards, paddy fields, and maize crops. Responding to the urgent crisis, Mr. Nazir Ahmad Rather, the Chairman of Block Development Council Hajin, has made a heartfelt appeal to the Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor and the Deputy Commissioner for immediate relief measures to aid the distressed farming community.

The hailstorm, which occurred yesterday, has left the region devastated, severely impacting the livelihoods of local farmers who heavily depend on these crops for their sustenance. The extent of the destruction has raised concerns about the ability of these families to recover from the substantial setback.

In his appeal, Mr. Nazir Ahmad Rather highlighted the urgent need for assistance and support for the affected farmers. He requested the authorities to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the damages incurred to the orchards, paddy fields, and maize crops to ascertain the scale of the disaster accurately.

The Chairman urged for immediate financial aid to help the affected farmers meet their basic needs and start the process of recovering and rebuilding their livelihoods. He also emphasized the importance of providing technical expertise to guide the farmers on the best practices for rehabilitation and revival of their damaged crops.

Do you know why these few women of sadunara Blocked the sgr-bpr road at Chinpuzpora Ajas because in 90's when militancy especially Akhwan Raj was on peak these householders encroachment the Irrigation canal which was donated by Markazi Jamia Masjid of Ajas for Irrigation of 36000 kanals of land of Ajas. They Constructed big and concrete houses on the land of Masjid Shareef... No doubt the land today is of I&FC, but land belongs to Masjid Shareef, In 90's a single FIR is not given by I&FC aginst the encroachers bcz everyone either civilian or employee of I&FC had fear of militants. The width of the canal is 150 feet today the same canal had became a drain... Let me mention here that last year not a single paddy was grown in 36000 kanals of land which has shown its drawback 100s of families are without foodgrains or rice... One Quintal of rice has touched 4000-5000 that too is very hard to get in area... Even Bitul Mal of Masjid Shareef's are without rice which were never been empty from last years.... The Tehsildar Ajas start anti-encroachment drive on canal and freed half of the canal and half canal is under tehsil Hajin, but unfortunate Tehsildar Hajin didn't took any step in this regard. If Tehsildar Hajin will not took any step to free the land maybe this year too the will be no paddy in 36000 kanals of Land.... Hope Tehsildar Hajin will wake-up from sleep and save the public....

Nazir Rather expresses anguish on Non Inclusion of tehsil Ajas in creation of R&B Sub divisions.

Bandipora,Jan 15: Chairman Block Development Council Hajin Nazir Ahmad Rather here on Sunday expressed his anger over the decision of govt in which Ajas tehsil was neglected in creation of Public Works (R&B) Sub divisions.

He said that all the newly created tehsils were included in the list but only Tehsil Ajas is missing in the list which means that Ajas has been neglected in creation of Sub Division of R&B, which is sheer injustice with the Tehsil Ajas.

In a statement issued this evening he said that Tehsil Ajas has a strategic location and connects a large area with a huge population of the District. He added that Creation of Public Works (R&B) at Ajas would pave a way to attain progress in different development works and also help the population and localities in redressal of their day to day issues.

BDC Chairman added that creation of sub division and tehsil level offices of different departments has been a long and geniune demands of Tehsil Ajas which includes CD Block , Sub divisions of Jal Shakti, PDD, Irrigation and Flood Control. He added that files for creation of Industrial Training Institute and seperate Education Zone for Ajas has also languishing in the offices.

Nazir Rather urged Lieutenant Governer JK Mr Manoj Sinha, Secretary R&B department, Chief Engineer R&B to reconsider the decision of ignoring tehsil Ajas and demanded that seperate orders for creation of Public Works (R&B) sub division at Tehsil Ajas may be issued immediately that will help in achieving progress in different development works in the entire district.

BDC Chairman Hajin Bereaved.

Bandipora,Dec 24: The paternal aunt of Chairman Block Development Council Hajin Nazir Ahmed Rather passed away after a brief illness on friday.
Mahtaba Begum passed away in afternoon today at her house in Sumbal Bandipora.
Meanwhile Condolences have been pouring in and people from all walks of life are expressing their heartfelt condolences with Nazir Rather.

DC Bandipora reviews power supply Scenario in Sumbal Sub Division, chairs grievances redressal camp

Bandipora, December 13: Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmad on Wednesday visited Sumbal Sub Division to review the power Scenario in the Sub Division.

He was accompanied by Sub-Divisional Magistrate Dr Bashir Ahmad, Executive Engineer PDD, members of Panchayat Raj Institutions and other senior officers of the district.

Dr Owais inspected ongoing construction of 10MVA Receiving Station in Sumbal. The officers informed about the status of work and informed that work is in final stage. DC Bandipora work directed the officers to complete the finishing works so that the receiving station can be made functional inaugurated and connected to the grid.

He said the receiving station will help to augment the power infrastructure and will reduce the load on the system thereby improving the power supply of the area.

Later Deputy Commissioner also held a grievance redressal camp at Wangipora Sumbal.
During the camp various public deputations from, Sumbal, Wangipor, Shadipora and adjoining villages including locals and PRI members flagged various issues of public interest besides raising several demands seeking early redressal of the grievances.

The issues raised by the deputations and individuals includes macadamization of left out of roads, up-gradation of Healthcare centres and Schools, Providing regular power and water supply to the villages, Estimation of pending RDD works etc.

The DC after listening to various public demands directed concerned officers to ensure prompt and speedy redressal of the issues raised during the camp.

He assured that all issues within his competence will be redressed as early as possible whereas the other all genuine demands will be taken up at appropriate forums for their resolution.

Gram Sabhas held by Block Hajin, Chairman BDC Hajin Participed, reviews action plan 2021-22.

Bandipora,April 28: A number of Gram Sabhas were held by Block Hajin at various Panchayat Halqas to formulate the action plan for Finciancal Year 2021-22.The Chairman Block Development Council Hajin Mr Nazir Ahmed Rather, Sarpanch and Panchs of the concerned Panchayat Halqa participated in the Gram Sabhas.The Gram Sabhas witnessed participation of a large number of people including the Political Activists, Senior Citizens,Civil Society members and Youths. All the participants freely brought their point of view as how to formulate the action plan and briefed the Chairman Block Development Council Hajin about the grievances and issues faced by them.The Chairman BDC Hajin Mr Nazir Ahmed Rather gave a patient hearing to all the participants and assured that all the issues and grievances will be redressed.
