If you haven't had the pleasure to read anything by Sarah Seymour, allow us to introduce you to this brilliant writer.

Winner of the Fall 2023 Editor's Choice Award in fiction for her short story "Shooting Stars", Sarah holds an MFA in Creative Writing from San Jose State University, currently teaches at Chiang Mai University in Thailand, and has recently co-authored an essay on "Saudade and Solace" in Aeon Magazine.

Why have we chosen “perspective” as our theme for this issue? Perception is truly what defines our reality (or should we say realities). Our hope is to curate a gallery of tapestries as vibrant and complex as the artisans who wove them.

Art is a reflective medium, and, as you delve into the stories within, we hope you may find not only new ways to experience the perspectives of others but also ways to understand your own unique experience and the richness it brings to this world.

A writer from Springfield, VA, Brian he lives with his wife and teenage twin children. He is newly retired after 25 years in the IT industry. He previously published through George Washington University and is currently soliciting literary agents for his literary crime fiction novel, THROUGHLINE.

🖊Contributor Spotlight: Michael T. Walker

Michael's short story "Agents" was featured in our Spring 2023 issue and was the very first recipient of our Editor's Choice Award! We hope you'll enjoy getting to know him as much as we have:

🗒 He is a political researcher and writer in Silver Spring, MD. He has worked as a copyeditor, English tutor, and literary catalog writer.

✈️ But his chief delights are fiction, traveling, and his daughters Millie and Cressida. Of all his adventures in Europe and Asia, his favorites were working for several months for Mother Teresa in Kolkata and backpacking the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal.

📚 An English Literature graduate of the University of Maryland, Michael loves short stories more than any other genre, especially those by Alice Munro, Lorrie Moore, and Edward P. Jones. He sees art as an essential human drive that could solve many of the world’s problems if passionately encouraged.
