So, we are going to talk about the GRAND FINALS of Female Tournament that we participated hosted by Shadow Home. We are going to break through the things about what really happened to us on the first map, “BIND” at a very crucial stage of the map (12-12 OVERTIME) in the finals. Point to be noted, at 12-12 our IGL had an internet issue, she got disconnected thus we had to take a tech pause, we were trying to reach our IGL Uziboozie but the admins were constantly pressuring us to un-pause the game within 5 minutes in the crucial rounds of overtime 12-12. We were expecting leniency from the SHADOW HOME MANAGEMENT. As, we are all aware about Bangladesh’s ISP and internet issues. But the administration did not even bother to consider our situation and hit the un-pause button even though, It was the most pivotal rounds of the first map in a GRAND FINAL match of the tournament. We were forced to play 4v5 in very 2 important decider rounds without our IGL. They did not even consider to figure out the issue from our end. Throughout the entire tournament we sacrificed, when it came to us, they implied all the rules on us but most of the time we did not get much help from the management. The match was supposed to start at 10:00 PM but it got delayed by 30 minutes because the MANAGEMENT TEAM was also having connectivity issues and they could not wait 10 minutes for our IGL and made us play 4v5 which led to our defeat, whereas, it could have gone either way if it was a FAIR 5v5. Even at the highest stage of VALORANT, they consider such issues and bend the rules for the players. [Example: One of the players of TEAM HERETICS could not make to the LAN EVENT and he was allowed to play remotely]. If you want more example, we can go on and on.
So, we are taking the question to you! Was it FAIR to us and the people watching? This was not a group stage match or a qualifying stage, it was the GRAND FINALS of the tournament.
Undoubtedly, HBE played exceptionally well and we lost the match. However, we feel the choice made by the SHADOW HOME MANAGEMENT was truly UNFAIR.
Moreover, the SHADOW HOME MANAGEMENT made an announcement on 29-Feb-24 that toxic gesture will be monitored closely to maintain a healthy environment. The statement was “For the finals, we will maintain proper observation for both teams, as well as monitoring the comments section. We remind all participants that verbal abuse, toxic gestures, and late MOSS submissions will not be tolerated”. But sadly, they failed to provide a healthy environment. Even the participants did not refrain themselves from making offensive comments. As you can see in the screenshots, there was a lot of personal attacks, and it did not stop there. There were non-stop vulgar comments which is unacceptable and it belittled women in general.
Lastly, we won’t participate and encourage others to take part in such events where the management cannot even provide a healthy, safe and fair environment for the teams.
