Please help save Hannah Cohen's Life

This is a very special appeal to raise money for life-saving treatment for Hannah who has a brain tumour.

We need to raise around £250,000 to give her the opportunity to have Immunotherapy treatment. The treatment is called ADCV and is from a pioneering company called DCVax®

It is not available on the NHS so needs to be funded privately.

Hannah's Story:

Hannah was first diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2011 when, out of the blue, she had a major seizure in the middle of the night. She lost consciousness and was rushed to hospital.

Hannah does not remember much about the two months that followed as she had constant headaches and a number of seizures. She was diagnosed with a very serious brain tumour called Anaplastic Astrocytoma. Hannah decided to have surgery and on 1st of April 2011 and underwent a six and a half hour operation. She was awake for nearly three hours of this operation.

She had to wait for the results of the biopsy for a few weeks and we remained positive. However, the news was not good and her world was rocked once more as the results showed a Grade III tumour.

Hannah’s treatment options were very limited and her life expectancy for this type of tumour is normally around 18 months and this is why her husband, Pete, started a mission to find alternatives. The most successful results came from a pioneering treatment in the USA.

This treatment was not available via the NHS and they raise around £200,000 to fund Hannah’s treatment. It worked and Hannah made a full recovery. Pete even made a film called Hannah's Anecdote that showed the journey they went on together.

However, things took a turn for the worse in November 2021 when Hannah had another major seizure and since then her condition has gradually declined with more seizures and the right side of her body not functioning properly. Results of a recent MRI show that there is a reoccurrence of the tumour. It is inoperable and repeating the previous treatment is not an option for us now.

Things have moved on in terms of treatment but none are available on the NHS. However, they have found an immunotherapy treatment called ADCV from a pioneering company called DCVax®

Should it prove that Hannah can be treated successfully on the NHS we will donate the funds to a charity so that someone else can benefit from this life-saving treatment.

Any donation you can make will be greatly appreciated.
There is a challenging road ahead and they need all the help and support they can get.
