The next step in the Bush Lapa build was a trip to Outdoor Campers! Here they are installing the same electrical system as I had in the Echo 5 for the past few months. There’s also more! Listed below is all the extras Rudu and the team installed a few days before the Lapa’s first trip. I trust Outdoor Campers fitment from experience 🙏

The new trailer! This has been a dream since 2021 when I went away with to the Kgalagadi and first witnessed the Miskruier in action. (Before this post affects people so badly that they feel the need send it to others and have a whole conversation about how Ed is sponsored everything and it must be so easy to be him, NO I PAID FOR THIS BUSH LAPA (second hand) as well as ALL OF THE UPGRADES after I sold the Echo). It’s a 2019 Miskruier which has been immaculately maintained but to get it where I want it I took it to Bush Lapa Gauteng Very few trailers and caravans can handle what we tow them through out there but I know plenty of people that have Miskruiers and I know it will! Mitch and the team are fitting the heavy duty 2.5ton axle, dirty life theory rims, tyres that used to be on the 200 and the windshield for the stove. Mitch then test drives the trailer and makes sure everything is perfect. Thank you to Mitch and the team for excellent service!(once again paid for, seems like the latest trend to disclaim it every time you pay) It’s a rush to get it ready for Storms River but they did it!

Camping at the insane Worlds View in Makuya! It’s been 2 days of tough driving and the vehicles are showing some battle scars. Camping in the month of November means it’s already around 33 degrees Celsius when you wake up so it’s time for a quick breakfast and then we pack up and move on! Travelling with a bunch of legends on this adventure! 🇿🇦

The legendary vehicle out on an adventure! My family have been purchasing Takla products since 2007 and I’ve been purchasing them since 2014. They are simply amazing, we’ve had them in 6 different vehicles and you really underestimate the difference they make to your vehicle. Takla offer an entire range of interior vehicle protection to protect your vehicle from the dash to the tailgate. The Takmats, Seatcovers, dash cover, transmission cover and load liner is pretty essential for Overlanding if you want to keep the interior of your vehicle new as well as allowing you to use the vehicle for it’s purpose and also adds an element of comfort. They recently kitted out the 200 series in the new River Rock range and well it’s just next level so far but more about that in a later post, just wanna say a huge shoutout to Takla, you are all legends and it’s a privilege to work with you 🙏🇿🇦

The final trip with the Echo 5. This is a tribute to this incredible trailer, I PURCHASED it 5 years ago and it’s been nothing but brilliant. It’s never catastrophically broken down and left me when I needed it and even small breakages didn’t phase me with this unit. Having seen other people have nothing but issues with their trailers (even brand new ones) it really puts into perspective how amazing this Echo is. I completed 172 000km’s with it and spent over 546 days living out of it. I was never sponsored by echo (the fact that people thought I was is mind boggling) but I showed how amazing this unit was so that people could consider it when choosing an off-road trailer because it’s fantastic and not because it’s sponsored. (Just because you show that something is a good product doesn’t mean it’s sponsored just by the way) I already regret selling it and I’m normally not sentimental but I will never forget where this trailer has taken me and what it’s been through. It’s found a new home with a very good mate of mine who I’m sure will also enjoy the home away from home that the Echo 5 really is. It’s one of the best trailers on the market that’s for sure!

After our magical stay at we couldn’t resist camping for a few extra days in Kruger, although the Echo was a downgrade from Shalati’s 5 star accommodation we still love using our trailer and camping in Kruger! We head to wherever we could find an available campsite and it ended up being Pretoriuskop rest camp, a favourite of mine, man I love the Kruger!

Out on our next adventure! and I were fortunate enough to stay at Kruger Shalati🙏 The Train on the bridge is simply next level, I’ve heard that this is a special experience and that is an understatement. The quality of the food, the views, the staff, the rooms, it really doesn’t end! It still has that Kruger magic but comes at a very affordable rate when you consider what you get. We have reached the end of another Epic Adventure with and ! What a privilege it was to travel with you legends 🙏 having sold the Echo I put the .co.za SkyCamp Mini on the 200 and the entire rig performed brilliantly on some tough terrain. Time for the next adventure 🇿🇦

How amazing is this campsite? is situated right on the beach with around 52 massive campsites that are impeccably maintained🔥 at high tide the waves crash right beside the site and the water is crystal clear, it’s a tropical paradise like scenes out of a movie! This trip to Mozambique has inspired me to want to explore the country even more but I would go back to Morrungulo in a heartbeat, what a place 🇲🇿!

Straight into our Mozambique adventure!! A good time with and ! We left joburg and headed to Morrongulo, I’ve never driven into Mozambique and given the perception we were very cautious and it was a long drive, around 12 and a half hours from Marloth Park to Morrungulo if you stick to the speed limit but I promise you it’s worth it, this has got to be in the top 5 campsites I’ve ever stayed in. It’s right on the beach and the next series of pics will explain exactly what I mean. This place is magic!!!! 🇲🇿
